Yep! We are a more relaxed roleplay in terms of activity, and there isn’t much to report on the main — but we are still very much open!

Havana is seemingly dead — the parties have died out for the night, everyone returned to their homes (or passed out on the street drunk, depending on how much they partied). Things are quiet, something that hasn’t happened often since The Poison Dagger arrived. But that quietness won’t even last that night. 

The Greedy Shark has arrived.

In the fog of the late night, the pirates of The Greedy Shark drop anchor without much commotion. As quiet and careful as they may seem, however, they have no plans to stay that way for long.

Run by Louisiana pirates, The Greedy Shark has one thing in mind: loot. They heard of the pirates of Poseidon’s Gold and The Poison Dagger, seizing the moment to pillage while the two were distracted with each other. 

For now, they don’t desire Isla Sirena. They know a myth when they hear one, but Havana is very much real.

Will Havana’s poor citizens be able to survive the pillaging of The Greedy Shark?

This event will run Monday, March 16 — Thursday, March 26. We will make opening and closing posts for it, so everyone is on the same page!

THE LOST ONE

The Lost One is the child of the mayor — merely by adoption. They don’t know who their biological parents are, as much as they would love to see them.

They don’t always agree with their father’s decisions as mayor. They frequently attempt to change his mind on topics, but they’re always ignored.

The Lost One dreams of a life outside of Havana with their real family, but they will consider a life without the family that they’ve been adopted by.

THE OUTSIDER

The Outsider was a merfolk from outside of the Caribbean waters. They never really adjusted to the life there from their European waters.

They find themselves more connected with the humans on land than the merfolk in the water, usually spending afternoons out on land exploring.

The Outsider finds themselves out of place in Isla Sirena, but they know that they really can’t go back to their European home.

NIXIE — THE BASTARD

APPEARANCE:

Nixie was born with a birthmark on the small of her back in the shape of a heart - an odd shaped heart but still. She stands at 5’2” tall and weighs 119lbs. Her ears, nose and navel are pierced and she paints her own body art on to her skin; at the moment her left leg is decorated with her own signature pattern, mostly inspired by the sights and sounds around her - the ocean being one of those inspirations. Her mer-form has never been seen by anyone, so her appearance in this form is a complete mystery.

BIOGRAPHY:

Nixie was raised alone by her mother, with no knowledge about who her father is or where he is now. As far as she is aware he may not even be alive, and her mother refuses to break her silence about the matter. As a child she was always curious. She imagined that he was a brave sailor travelling the seven seas, and that he would soon return with tales of pirates, mermaids and battles aplenty. But he never did return, and as the years passed Nixie’s imagination soon moved on to far more tangible things.

Painting started off as her very own release. It was only when her mother realised just how talented she was that Nixie began selling her work to some of the folks in Havana. They were in desperate need of money if they wanted a roof over their heads, and of course Nixie was all too happy to help her mother out. First selling small oil canvasses that she spent little time on, these soon evolved into commissions for those who could afford it. The rich were always looking for attractive things to furnish their homes with.

While out selling her art, Nixie came across Ahto, and soon considered him an acquaintance of sorts. Despite the fact they are often in competition with one and other, he is friendly to her, which is more than she can say for some of the other residents of Havana.

Nixie has heard many stories about the Merfolk whilst eavesdropping on some of the townspeople’s conversations, but she has serious doubts about their existence.

She finds it incredibly strange that her mother forbids her to go anywhere near the water. Her curiosity has almost gotten the better of her once or twice, however her fear has always held her back.

The Bastard: Congrats, Court! We absolutely loved your audition for Nixie, and we can’t wait to see her character develop even more!
