Rewatching the first two seasons with friends and listening to Neon Lights by Pim Stones got me in some Big Feels about how often these two are just left to pick themselves up (╥﹏╥) This combined with how Stiles is the only one to really stand up for Derek in the beginning was what made me ship them back when i first watched ♡

Platonic whitsantos coparents (they met in med school in this)

Dennis having accidentally gotten pregnant during his first year of med school and his only friend was Trinity who was an MS2. They’d met during their primary care shadowing and Trinity offered him a place to stay when she found out he was homeless. She’d finally got him out of his shell and took him to a club to have fun and let loose. “You gotta get your nose outta the books every now and again.” She claimed before finally breaking him down into going.

8 months later they realized why there should definitely be a full course on cryptic pregnancies instead of just touched upon during bigger lessons.

The labor and delivery itself was a jarring experience, Dennis having been in class learning anatomy in the cadaver lab when he’d doubled over in pain and hit the floor had everyone startled. No one knew what was happening (and they all questioned their current degrees) and so Dennis was brought to the hospital, a call to Trinity was made as well because he’d had no one else.

Trinity getting a call that her roommate had collapsed while in a lab practicing sutures wasn’t something she’d forget, mostly due to the fact that it was the way her heart jumped and stomach dropped at something possibly being really wrong with him that made her realize she genuinely cared about her friend.

When they both found out what was happening it was pure chaos. He’d gone fast, already dilated to 9cm by the time Trin got there and they were getting him prepped. Dennis was grateful she was there with him because he was petrified.

7 minutes and a lot of screaming later, a tiny baby girl was placed on his chest. Dennis was pretty sure his hand was broken from how hard TRINITY had been squeezing it.

Trinity could’ve kicked him out, told him to deal with it himself or even left his ass at the hospital but she didn’t. Instead she’d told him of course he and the baby were welcome to stay there. She even told him she’d help him through everything… and if he didn’t want the baby girl then she’d support his decision to give her up for adoption…

Everyone already assumes that Trinity and Dennis are in a secret relationship when they join the Pitt. Just by how close they are makes people give a little side eye. They tried for all of an hour to act like they didn’t know each other but then Dennis got his finger caught while transferring a patient and the nurses got to watch the new “aggressive” girl bring him over and fix up his finger delicately- with maybe a little teasing. There was chemistry there but not the kind they all assumed.

As the weeks stretched on the staff noticed little oddity’s about the two that made them question if they were wrong or not. Santos and Garcia from surgery sure seemed to have something going on that was thick in the air but how could that be when everyone knew her and Whitaker lived together?? They boiled it down to Santos trying hard for that surgery rotation. Plus it wasn’t hard to tell Whitaker made doe eyes at certain types of older men.

That’s when a betting pool opened up.

“I’ll take 5 bucks it’s a lavender marriage.” “I bet 10 they’re just friends with benefits.” “Nah you’re so off they’re totally siblings and lying about their backgrounds so they could get into the same program! Gimme 15!” “Farmboy hasn’t had his gay awakening yet I’m saying highschool sweethearts 30 bucks.” “Guys they’re actually married how can you not see it? Put 10 on that.” A grumble of agreements.

The pool kept growing with so many different bets on what the two were and when they would finally tell everyone that it eventually got back to Robby and Jack.

“And what is going on here?” Robby’s arms crossed. Jack followed in behind him. “Yeah and why weren’t we included in this betting pool?”

“Uh- well we’re betting on what the relationship is between Santos and Whitaker… and when they’ll tell us all about it.”

Robby and Jack shared a look. “They’re just friends.” They said almost in sync.

There was no way they could be anything else right? It was just far too obvious.

Then one day when Dennis was sitting at the hub mid shift, Trinity came in with a toddler on her hip. “Yo fatherberry!” She called gaining his attention with ease.

“What?” He easily took the small girl from her arms and cuddled her. “Why’d you bring Sawyer? She sick??” He asked with concern, already scanning over the small girl that was a carbon copy of Dennis. “You sick little lamb?” He doted on her.

Trinity shook her head as she pulled out some wrapped up food from her bag. “We went out to lunch, they had your favorite and she asked if she could bring you lunch to work.”

A relieved sound released from his body as the little girl confirmed she was alright with a giggle and gave him little kisses to his nose.

All eyes were on the two of them for the brief interaction that was all too casual! As if they did this all the time and it wasn’t a huge deal that everyone was thinking it was. As much as literally everyone wanted to ask a million questions and coo over the baby, they were too stunned…….. and Robby was totally sending a picture to Jack with the caption [wtf wtf wtf wtf] for him to wake up to.

Dana broke everyone out of their trances by going over and ruffling the kids curly hair. “Cute kiddo, kiddo.” She teased before looking to Trinity. “But we got a trauma coming, 7 minutes out so unless you got scrubs in a 3T in that bag you’re gonna have to skedaddle.” She chuckled. “Donuts in the break room if this cutie pie wants one.”

Dennis reluctantly hugged his baby girl goodbye and handed her back. “Daddy Denny is gonna see you later okay? Go snag a donut with Mama Trin.” He smiled as the little girl gave a dramatic *Mwah* kiss to his cheek before tucking up into Trins arms and waving goodbye.

As Trinity walked away with the toddler on her hip Dennis simply got up and grabbed a pair of gloves before walking off to the ambulance bay leaving the lunch on the hub counter much like he left everyone in stunned silence.

Robby is a virgin when it comes to men and thinks its ok, he will be fine, he can fuck Dennis with some extra steps, hes smart enough to know lube should be used.

When they finally lose all their clothes and are making out aggressively on Robby's bed. Dennis suddenly flips Robby onto his stomach, licks his ear and says,
