here's a pitt and star trek (TOS, not the 2009 reboot) thing where I assign pitt characters a main 1960s star trek character and why (there are only 7 main ST characters, so not every main pitt character will get one)! :)
robby is obviously captain kirk. he is the leader, and he's good at it, as well as being very popular amongst his crew as a rule of thumb. however, he can be prone to moments where he acts in a controversial way that doesn't please everyone around him, and doesn't take into account other's informed opinions before making a choice. he's begrudgingly respected by the higher ups, but butts heads with them a lot over procedure and priorities. he thinks of the collective over the individual most often.
al hashimi is spock (hear me out). although she doesn't fit spock's vulcan philosophy in many ways (she thinks often of the individual over the group, unlike spock), she still has many similarities to him. she is entirely capable of running the cohort in the absence of it's usual leader, and brings with her a skillset that robby doesn't have due to her msf background that can be vital (in the same way spock has the vulcan mind meld etc). she follows procedure to the letter wherever possible, and reacts negatively in situations where she learns others haven't. it takes a great deal for her to bend the rules.
abbot is dr McCoy/bones. he's the closest in the cohort to the captain and leader, and can speak to him casually and reach him in a way others can't. he can tell when something is wrong with the leader when others can't, and can address those issues without fear of hierarchy. he's also hardy and steadfast in his skillset and performs procedures with a high risk rate knowing that he's doing so for the good of the cohort (s1 abbot assisting risky procedures during the mci/donating blood while treating, bones performing surgery during moments where the enterprise is actively under fire).
dana is scotty. she runs a different yet integral part of the cohort, and despite the different areas, she is respected wholeheartedly by robby, as scotty is by kirk. her different area is respected and she's allowed to get on with running that area with little unnecessary interference from the captain. she's serious at times, good in a crisis, and can take charge of more than she should have to should dire situations arise. she can butt heads with the captain also, but the respect between them remains constant. like scotty, she likes her vices to get her through things (dana with her cigarettes, scotty with alcohol).
dennis is chekhov. both (relatively) young members of the cohort, like chekhov, dennis shows a sense of hero-worship towards the captain, viewing him in a very high light and visibly enjoying impressing him. he grows in confidence over time and gradually plays a bigger role in more serious proceedings, trying to model his behaviour after that of the captain. like chekhov, dennis often unfortunately gets the short end of the stick in amusing ways (though dennis is less openly amorous than chekhov).
trinity is sulu. while also on the younger side, she shows much less of a sense of hero worship towards the captain, instead simply having a strong trust towards him, and loyalty to him. she's not, however, someone who will avoid disagreeing with him- she's truthful and follows her gut, and can be blunt. she's best friends with dennis as sulu is with chekhov, and both take on the more teasing and leading role in the friendship. she has a strong sense of justice and isn't afraid to go about getting that justice in unorthodox manners.
samira is uhura. she's kind and patient and has a strong sense of empathy towards those outside of the main cohort, as uhura is with new species that they meet. she has an individual skillset and knowledge area that she uses to the benefit of those around her. they both have a tendency, upon clashing with the captain, to take the criticism without fighting back as opposed to more strongly stating their cases, unless the situation really needs it. they step up under a crisis.
how it feels posting art and stuff
good for you! however as a creator I despise consumption culture. it's not about popularity, I get thousands of notes on some of my other posts. it's about people being reluctant to share your work with others. if you look at posts from, say, 2015, you'll find that the likes to reblogs ratio is more or less equal, and sometimes there's more reblogs than likes. this is not the case now, especially with art/fanfiction/gifsets etc. because on "marketable" apps like tiktok and instagram, you're expected to endlessly scroll without sharing. the same thing is happening to this website. fandom thrives on interaction, and if there's no interaction, is there any point in fandom? that's what I'm worried about, not "popularity"
i am not immune to the call of whitaker lamb symbolism...
the number of people that spell "robinavitch" wrong, after two years and two seasons of the show, genuinely baffles me. really and truly. because this is *not* a hard name to spell- it's incredibly phonetic, and every single letter is pronounced clearly. *why* am I seeing "rabinavitch", "rabinovitch", and various other examples so frequently?
sure, maybe its not a name/form of name you see a lot, but it's not hard to spell (or at least to look up if you aren't sure). it is simply eastern european and jewish. please please please put a bit of effort into these things..

sometimes it's okay to be a big ole crybaby
a/b/o au where its the done thing for an alpha to absolutely shower their omega in as many shiny, bejewelled, eye-catching things as possible, as tokens and proof of their love. and robby? he's perhaps the most doting alpha alive.
dennis can't really wear rings and bracelets at work usually due to the nature of their jobs, but his alpha makes up for it with other things. his omega has three little stud piercings in each ear, and robby's made sure to buy him emeralds and rubies and sapphires to fill those holes. he's also got real gold hoops on the tops of his ears, sometimes with shimmering lab grown diamonds embedded in them, so he just twinkles under any light.
dennis's collar, a typical claiming gift from an alpha to their omega, is extremely high quality leather and the stitches are threaded gold- and the tag that dangles from it is a pure but warm hued platinum. beneath his collar dennis has other necklaces, and each one is as stacked with precious stones as his earrings are. and this is what robby's "simple, dressed down" attire for his special boy is. at home, or any time out of work, it's another thing entirely.
as soon as they clock out, robby is taking his omega home and changing him carefully, putting full effort into making dennis the most doted on omega that side of the atlantic. dennis preens and smiles his scrubs are stripped off of him and robby gets to work. dennis's plain nipple piercings are replaced with golden metal, and he's dressed in a deep blue cashmere jumper and dark jeans. rings are slipped onto eight of his ten fingers, and three or four bracelets and bangles are put on each of his wrists. some of them studded with pearl, some mother-of-pearl, some with drops of jade.
robby gives him a kiss, and then puts on his non work earrings. they're long and dangle, and have tiny golden chains that host pieces of amethyst on the ends, catching the light whenever he shifts. dennis trills in his throat as robby adorns him, feeling the love and possession and pride that his alpha has for him. robby kisses him soundly, knowing he's done a good job.
a few hours later when they go out for dinner, robby will strip him again and slip him into a silken blue dress that compliments his eyes and the warm, gold-based jewellery that drips from him, and costs more than some people made in six months. it has a low neckline, showing off hints of dennis's modest cleavage and the expanse of his pale neck- his collar matches his dress, and takes centre stage. this omega is *very* much off the market. when robby leads his pampered and doted on omega into the restaurant, heads turn and mouths gawk at the vision he cuts.
he's the epitome of omega beauty and excess, and robby is the epitome of alpha ownership and devotion. dennis seems to glow under the lights, every adornment to his body displaying the wealth and love that he was showered with. he preens again under the gazes on him, and robby smiles. he likes when his omega knows his worth.
After the shoulder grabs in season 1 and the fist bumps in season 2, I think it only makes sense to get kisses as a sign of support and appreciation in season 3.
it took them twenty years to find out I was autistic despite the fact that i used to wake up at 5am every day between the ages of 7 and 11 just so I could lay out all 350+ moshi monster cards I owned in strict numerical order on my bedroom carpet. I would then put them all away again in exactly the same order before doing the same the next day.
it took them twenty years to work it out.
how i feel when im reading a fic and realise the writer is british because all the u's are in their proper places and the words finally look right:

its okay dr. robinavitch the people on tiktok don't understand you but i promise that i do
i’m always thinking about him.
I think robby gets so horny he has to go to the bathroom to jerk off whenever dennis gets an unfortunate liquid spilt on him on shift. blood? hot. piss? even more so. even mylanta makes dennis look delicious as it drips off of him and onto the floor. its too much for robby at least, who can only thinking of cumming all over the younger man.
robby who's been sitting in a shitty motel room for hours, legs bouncing and stilling, bouncing and stilling, sitting on the edge of the queen bed with an ugly comforter. robby who's been fidgeting with a bottle of pills for the past hour, knowing it's enough, it would be enough. the air conditioner hums, white noise in the otherwise silent room.
robby who knows no one is coming to save him. no one is coming to take the pills from his hands or coddle him or kiss it better, and it's been decades since he's deserved anything like that. robby who knows he's alone, and feels it in every inch of his body, in his marrow, rotting his bones from the inside out. robby who doesn't want to die. he just wants his mom.
rotating the bottle in his hands, over and over, toying with it, with his life. willing his phone to ring, but it never does. jack texts him, sometimes, dennis, even rarer. call me if it gets dark. puts all the pressure on him, huh? to reach out? to lift his phone that feels heavier than it should, limbs frail, hands shaking? to find the contact and press call, knowing that in the seconds it'll take him to do so, he'll succumb to cowardice and not call at all?
it's the closest he's come to resenting jack, truly, wholly resenting him. because fuck him for that, fuck him for not calling. fuck him for offering instead of forcing. fuck him for letting him leave that goddamn hospital. fuck him for ever wrapping robby in a hug if he was just going to let go.
robby crumples in on himself, and he wants his mom, and he always wants his mom, because fuck his dad. he doesn't care if his dad wants him or not. he wants his mom to want him, to want him again. the fuzzy edges of her wanted him, once. she used to pet the back of his head after he had a nightmare, slow and steady, soothing him. his own hand raises to mirror it now, petting the back of his head, sniffling something wet and embarrasing, whimpering like a wounded animal. he wants his mom.
and it's a humiliation ritual, to struggle this hard, to be fucking bad at killing himself. it makes sense, really. he's failed at so many things, so many times, it's in his nature. his legs bounce again, his free hand clutching the bottle of pills, willing himself to just fucking do it.
robby doesn't want to die. call me if it gets dark.
and he fucking hates him for it, hates him for it, and he's dropping the pills and rummaging for his phone, breathing shaky with tears burning in his eyes as he stabs the contact, stabs the call. jack doesn't get a word out.
please just tell me not to do it. tell me you don't want me to do it. tell me you couldn't handle it if I did it. tell me you can't fucking live without me, jack. tell me you couldn't survive a goddamn day without me here. even if you're fucking lying. even if you're lying to me. please. jack, please. tell me not to do it.
Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

im not sure how best to word this, but I think the pitt fans who insist on trying to get the creators and writers to hear their views/complaints/opinions on fumbled (in their eyes) romantic relationships in the writing are forgetting that the feedback they're providing (often via way of hate comment) isn't the kind of feedback the pitt crew are interested in looking at particularly.
maybe that sounds harsh, but the reality is that the "feedback" that social media fans have overwhelmingly given (yes, I'll refer to the barrage of hate comments over cast changes and cast-hinted character relationships not happening) is not the kind of feedback the creative team are focusing on.
this is a medical show. it's not greys anatomy, it's not a multi-romance pile up with a clinical bow on top, it's a medical show. it was produced with the sole aim of educating about, and drawing attention to, the failing us medical system, and how that impacts hospital staff (especially in the wake of covid) and patients of all different demographics, while finally giving healthcare workers a voice.
*that* is what the show is about. *that* is what the show cares about getting right. they're telling the story of a doctor struggling with ptsd and severe mental health issues, and how the system has allowed that to happen. they're telling you to open your eyes and be aware of the precarious situation they are all in.
this is not a romance show. it isnt even a found family show, despite the fact we see interpersonal dynamics of the staff portrayed very well. the writers *are not very interested* in feedback about these things in relation to how interested they are in getting the medical side right.
because they *do* take feedback on board, and they take it seriously. and they prioritise feedback *from* the medical field, or relating to the medical cases. in season one, it was pointed out that there were no respiratory therapists in the ER when several cases displayed would've necessitated them to be present. in season two, respiratory therapists were duly added to improve accuracy. feedback around season two highlighted that many missed the prominent role of a black female doctor after collins' departure, as she provided an important presence for many black patients to feel comfortable and recieve higher quality care, and they've responded by writing ellis as a main character next season to make sure that's done justice.
the feedback they want is to do with their main purpose as a medical show, and that's the feedback they'll respond to. while yeah, some romantic relationships may be on display (trinity and garcia, for example), this is not and will not be a focus for them. it can enhance a character storyline, but it will never *be* a character's storyline. it makes sense that if they were to choose between acting on feedback about mohabbot (im sorry, mohabbot fans, but this is the one I see lamented most) or about medical care portrayal.... they're picking the medical care.
the interpersonal relationships we get to see should probably be treated as more like the icing on the cake, rather than the cake itself. it's not that the pitt writers don't hear what people say about their decisions, it's just that a lot of the critique is irrelevant to the point of their show, and fanservice by way of romance is not even *on* their to do list, let alone near the top.
hc that robby smacks dennis's ass all the time- like, numerous times a day. usually when they're at home, but he'll manage at work too. any time he's behind dennis? he's smacking it. dennis has a nice, round, jiggly ass- it would be rude not to.
dennis in return decides to start smacking robby's ass. however, the first time he tries it, he realises that robby's ass is as flat as a plank. he's basically smacking bone, rather than plump flesh like he has. after a few shocked moments where the two men stare at each other and marvel at just how nonexistent robby's ass really is, dennis comes up with a solution.
he'll smack robby's nice round belly instead.
