These Philly Chocolate Cream Cheese Breakfast Biscuits are a delightful morning treat. The cream cheese adds a rich and creamy texture, while the chocolate chips provide a sweet indulgence. Perfect for breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed. 1/2 cup Philadelphia cream cheese. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 cup chocolate chips. 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing. 2 tbsp granulated sugar for sprinkling. 1/4 cup chopped pecans optional. 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips optional.
Instructions: Warm your oven up to 425F 220C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl with a whisk. For the dough, add the cold cream cheese and butter cubes. Mix the butter and cream cheese into the flour mixture until it looks like coarse crumbs. You can use a pastry cutter or your fingers to do this. Just until they are mixed in, add the buttermilk and vanilla extract. Add the chocolate chips and, if you want, the pecans and mini chocolate chips. Put some flour on a surface and gently knead the dough a few times until it comes together. Spread the dough out until it's about an inch thick. Then, use a round biscuit cutter to make biscuits. Cover the baking sheet with foil and put them on it. Put 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar on top of each biscuit and brush the tops with melted butter. The biscuits should be baked in a hot oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and done all the way through. Take it out of the oven and let it cool down a bit before you serve it. Have fun with your Philly Cookies with Chocolate and Cream Cheese!
