I did notice the lack of Reputation Quest mention in the calendar for Phase 2 and felt anxious that there would be no new story to explore whatsoever. Now I return to this space to find this has been confirmed via VIP Support.
I have played since launch, and I have spend regularly on the Season Passes and occasional cosmetics. I am very passionate about the world and characters of AFK Journey, so much so, that I have started to draw fanart for it. I believe I can say that since I joined the EsperiArt Program, my art has been a staple in the community, regularly shared on official channels - and AFKJourney has honored me with the Journey Cup Gala Prize of 2025, among only a handful of other, world-wide artists.
The lore was always (and still is) essential to my motivation to draw for this game and its community. To see a significant source of lore disappear without a word, is disappointing and disheartening. A loss of passion like this is difficult to recover.
I am part of this community for so long not because of the leaderboards (though I much appreciate those modes and I'd lie if I said I wasn't enjoying climbing in ranks!) but because of my fellow fans of lore and characters. The interactions I have had with other artists and fans are invaluable and precious and they have kept me invested continuously for over 2 years now. AFKJourney has certainly many flaws, and I keep arguing with my friends over the story and discuss character development at great length and I cannot forget the rise of our own original characters that resulted from our joy of the source canon.
Removing any lore tidbits is a big deal for me. And that is only on top of the many small things missing as of recent, like the cinematic trailer, character lore and songs, and yes, even the reduction of rewards in the Creator Contests conducted.
And if this is how AFKJourney continues, they will lose me, and many more like me, for sure. We are just one part of the community, but it is people like us that keep AFKJourney relevant in the social media landscape and creative spaces. I dare say that we, my creative colleagues and I, are small but not insignificant catalysts to engage with and keep the community together.
So again... dear AFKJourney Dev Team: We LOVE the game and adore the characters. The community is full of supportive people with so many good suggestions that hope to benefit the game and bring all of its players under one hood. If you must restructure certain things, please do, but communicate with us. And please, do not forget the little things outside of the main story. They are PARTICULARLY important small treasures for us that keep us going from one Season to the next ...but we will starve without them.
