Learning to Stay Without Losing Myself
They ask me, “Don’t you want someone?” And I smile, because, yes I do. I want the kind of love that feels like warmth, not urgency. The kind that stays.
When someone steps closer, fear still visits. It always has. But now I notice it instead of obeying it. I breathe through the tightness.
I stay.
I remind myself that closeness isn’t a loss of self, and uncertainty isn’t a warning sign. It’s just the space where trust is built. I don’t rush forward. I don’t run away. I let things grow at a pace my body can believe in.
When something feels heavy, I speak even when my voice shakes. When I need room, I ask without disappearing. I’ve learned that space doesn’t have to mean distance and care doesn’t have to mean sacrifice.
I can love deeply and still keep my feet on the ground. I don’t leave at the first hint of fear. I stay long enough to listen, long enough to see what’s true.
I want connection not the perfect kind, but the honest one. The kind that allows me to be seen without asking me to vanish.
So this time, I don’t leave.
I let you be who you are and I let myself receive what is steady, what is kind, what is meant for me.
people talk about how we need to bring back "don't feed the trolls" rhetoric for modern internet ragebait and I agree but also I think the most useful thing from the Old Internet that I miss is LURKING
be a lurker. just read things and think about them without feeling the need to weigh in or call out or disseminate everything you encounter. it's so nice and so freeing and it's a good way to learn things.
I have frequently regretted getting involved in shit that didn't involve me online but you know what I've never regretted doing? Lurking. literally lurk moar
TMI just means Tell Me Immediately. Sorry not sorry 🤷🏻♀️

the only super long Tumblr post I love
i spent $32 on this fucking bowl at the moma and at first i felt bad buying it bc it was so expensive but ive had a terrible day today and every time i look at my lil bowl im like :o) you know what. i can get through anything with this bowl by my side
i literally get what marie kondo was talking about now
bc everyone keeps requesting to see it filled :)
I don’t know how long I’ve been here. Time seems to pass differently. But the place is cozy and private so I have no complaints. And whenever I’m hungry, I go outside with my bowl and walk down the hill to the shore. Sometimes the lake is made of soup. Sometimes it’s huge pasta noodles the size of barges. Sometimes it’s breakfast cereal. Sometimes it’s dumplings the size of great whales. I dip my little bowl and take a portion and carry it back up to the house.
Today I found a new bowl! In its center is a little hill with a little house. I will carry it down to the shore and fill it up, and whomever lives in that little house can have a tiny portion of my meal. I hope they have a nice bowl to put it in..

HOW TO TURN OFF GOOGLE AI in GMAIL:
Open Gmail in your browser
Click on the Gear Icon ⚙️ in the upper right

Since it’s Spotify Wrapped season I thought I’d share this reminder that streaming services are killing the music industry. Musicians can’t make a living like this. If you love an artist, find them on Bandcamp and actually buy their albums.
Reminder: This friday (December 5th) is Bandcamp Friday! That means 100% of the proceeds from album sales on Bandcamp go directly to the artists you buy from.
