A 1990s masterpiece taking inspiration by various older songs including some greek poems about the myth. Portraying Odysseus addressing his wife Penelope about the life out the sea. I seriously do not need to analyze anything much the song is very clear! Just some small mentions here;

As I said in the past the tender phrase μάτια μου (my eyes) as I said in the past means that someone is as precious to you as your own eyesight. Also known as "light of my eyes" etc. Definitely something Odysseus would call Penelope!

The part where it says "you were from the beginning till the end, you were my shield, my bow and my arrow" is getting me every time!

The phrase I translated as "are eaten away from sorrow" in the original is "τους τρώει το σαράκι" ("they are eaten away by woodworm") the word σαράκι literally means "woodworm" or "wood beetles". Insects that eat the wood from the inside and destroy it. When used in Greek for humans it means something like sorrow or issues you have (usually sadness of being away) that is eating you away from inside out. SO WHAT ODYSSEUS WOULD SAY!!!!!!!!

Overall I think it captures Odysseus's personality to perfection. Yes I think he is the type of guy to say when he is emotionally charged "you do it if you are so good" to someone hahaha and yes even his wife if she is telling him something similar (because yes I love these two imagining them on such terms sometimes!)

Eros!Simon completely giving up on the idea of genuine love for him because Aphrodite!Ava has spent so many years telling him about what an unlovable creature he is and how no one could possibly love him while he looks like a mutated monster

Eros!Simon who figures, well Aphrodite!Ava is the goddess of love itself, so if anyone would know unlovable, it would be her

Eros!Simon who meets Psyche!Grace and is so thrown off by how someone so beautiful could possibly claim to love him

Eros!Simon who finds himself enjoying Psyche!Grace's presence more, even opening up to him

Eros!Simon who starts to think that maybe love for him isn't this unobtainable thing

Eros!Simon who becomes absolutely devastated when Psyche!Grace betrays his trust and looks upon him

Eros!Simon who is bitter about Psyche!Grace, hating that it's in human's nature to be curious and to understand everything around them

Eros!Simon who is forced to watch Psyche!Grace's trials, his bitterness slowly fading as he sees how much Grace still loves him and how remorseful Grace is for his actions

One day ppl will understand that Greek heroes weren’t supervillains but complex human being who are representations of the best and worst of humanity and that they aren’t remembered bc they were ‘heroic’ in a modern sense and that the Ancient Greeks rarely actually whitewashed their heroes actions but instead used them to tell fables and tragedies.

I’ve been wanting to make something like this for a long while, and talking to my friend @olympianbutch today gave me the push I needed to do so. When I was starting out as a Hellenic Polytheist years ago, this is the kind of resource I needed. So I hope you all enjoy and find this helpful!

Fun fact: Bonding with your Deities or spirit companions doesn't have to be elaborate, nor does it have to be expensive or difficult to access.

Here are some ways to bond with your Gods that I, personally, find very nice!

Now, 'letter' has a very loose definition here. This can be a literal letter on paper, something digital, a little note, writing in the dirt or any form of writing/printing on something.

Once you're done, do whatever you want with it! Burn it to send it to your God, keep it to give it to Them, place it on Their altar, put it somewhere safe, do whatever makes you feel best.

It doesn't have to be a devotional playlist and it doesn't have to be songs that remind you of Them. Just put on your liked songs or your favorite playlist and do something relaxing.

Tell Them about your day, draw with Them, sing along to the music, have a cup of tea, literally anything with the music playing in the background. Ask Them what They think about the music. Tell Them what you think about the music. Just anything.

Take a walk in the park or sit by an open window and let the air run through your face. "Go for a walk outdoors. Reconnect with the feeling of the wind blowing through your hair. Listen to the birds that live in a tree in your yard. Watch the sunset. Take time to smell the flowers that bloom in the park during the summer." Light a candle on your altar (or just any candle, for that matter) as a devotional act, or just for whatever you would like. Make sure you stay safe around fire, though, and keep an eye on that flame.

After lighting your candle, you can let it continue burning (while keeping an eye on it), you can make an offering or a prayer, you can talk to Them, you can just rest in Their presence, you can do anything you want really.

Now, by 'emoji sequence', I do mean probably exactly what you're thinking. A collection of emojis that remind you of your Deity or spirit. Now, I'm not using the term 'emoji spell' because it isn't necessarily a spell (though categorically it can fall under 'spells' depending on how you intend to use it.)

Whether it's yellow for Apollon, owls for Athena or a dress for Aphrodite, wearing something that is or represents something you associate with Them can help you feel closer to Them.

It's basically the same concept as a prayer bead or devotional jewelry, but it's literally your clothes.

Research your Deity, things related to your Deity, things that remind you of your Deity or pretty much anything. Ways to worship, spells, how to offer.

This has helped me feel closer to my Goddess many times (which makes sense, considering She's literally the Goddess of wisdom, but it works even if They aren't an intelligence-related Deity).

I have been subjected to this hoes content for ages, I literally forgot I had her blocked on tiktok until I went to check my block list just there and it reminded me how she's a FREAK and that NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE??

If you don't know who she is, shes basically an artist who had a webtoon currently going about Ganymede, and like 99% of her content on all her platforms is Ganymede, which is fine on it's own, we all love him.

But it's the fact her content is, even if not explicitly sexual, implied and that nobody gaf.

I seen a tiktok posted about a month ago someone created, asking what people thought of her content and was horrified to find not even ONE comment saying they disagreed. The most I found was someone saying they understood why people might have a problem with it, but they personally enjoyed it.

As much as on her tiktok her art is only suggestive, on her Twitter she makes ACTUAL NSFW art of him sleeping with the gods. INCLUDING ZEUS. HIS KIDNAPPER? The argument I've seen the most is that in her au he is a little older, unlike how in his actual myth he is a child. But is that not still deeply odd to anyone?

That means she as a grown woman read a myth about a little boy getting kidnapped and assaulted and as a 27 year old sat at her desk and went "let me age him up so I can draw him having sex with his abuser"

What part of that is a normal thing for a grown adult to do.

Him being aged up doesn't excuse how disgusting it is, and also how young she draws him and the childish way she draws often draws him infantilizes him even if he is meant to be a grown man, it's clear she still wants to have him much younger and keep the power imbalance that makes the myth disgusting in the first place
