Never in my life have I wanted a 3 - the lowest passing grade - as badly as I do right now. The first crystallochem test is this Wednesday but by that time I'll definitely have lost my mind.
It's not even that the material is so confusing (even though it's certainly hard), but rather that the professor sucks so bad it's unreal. Chaotic lectures that don't follow any of the course textbooks, unclear expectations, z e r o practice problems (in crystallo?!?!). Not to mention most of the online resources only use the Schoenflies notation for some reason while the professor only uses the Hermann-Mauguin notation π

I barely squeezed in some time to do vocab practice before me and my fiancΓ© went to visit his family. I have read in "Beruf aktuell" about physiotherapy, it sounds like an interesting job. I might study to become a physiotherapist, but I'm not fully sure if that would be my dream job. Anyways, I wish y'all a good weekend! π«Άπ»π©·β¨

2025. 01. 14 | Set-up for today.
I love my Hobonichi Cousin, but haven't quite figured out how I want to use it yet. The weekly schedule is chaos because it keeps changing day by day, so I should honestly fill it in at the start of the week instead of months in advance. The daily schedule is also chaos bc I've been using it as a brain dump and a to-do list rather than having a system to keep my life together. Anyone have any suggestions?
I guess it's a reflection of how messy life is right now, but that's okay bc the sound the paper makes when I flip through the pages hits right in the good-feels.
Anyway, progress for today:
I picked up a part-time bike delivery job just to stop hemorrhaging my savings. Finished out all the onboarding stuff and scheduled my first shift tomorrow.
I've also finished up a cover letter and sent in another PhD application just in case my current one falls through, since my PI isn't responding to my emails. I'm so fed up.
Finished out Dutch homework and worked on a presentation for class.
Gonna try to stay busy to stop wallowing.

Went to on a beautiful misty morning walk and now I'm cleaning my home and desk so that everything is finished before Christmas holidays. I'm looking forward to this time off!

My week off is over and tomorrow school starts again. I'm looking forward to teaching my workshop and I'm excited for the time of the year that lays ahead of us. I love Christmas time and the beginning of winter (one month of winter would be nice, then I'd be ready for spring again haha). I had a good week off and I'm really grateful for my life.

i'm SO relieved. it's fun to go back and look back at my posts from this summer. although i wish i had posted more, i was so nervous about not passing that i didn't want to take too much time out of studying to take pictures and post them :((
