You want me to ~be compassionate~ here's the compassionate answer: your trauma will tell you you're a helpless child forever and you need to Not Think This Way for yourself (living under the assumption you're still in danger whether you actually are or not) and everyone else who has to tiptoe around your Sensitivity. That's how you break the cycle and you can only do this by accepting responsibility for your actions. And it seems like a small semantic thing but imo step one is calling yourself a survivor instead of a victim. Self identifying with your victimhood helps No One. You lived, now get up

#I have a tomatoes + peppers allergy so I don't do mexican food #and I'm really avoidant of the good places because they're more prone to giving you ''extras'' like a cheese quesadilla with bell peppers #that is not listed on the menu #so it's like. I miiiiiight go to chipotle if I can stare at them when they make the food just in case of cross contamination #but I won't do the local food trucks because they're lovely people who want to make good food and they will kill me #also I think lime salt on corn chips is bad personally so there's that
