The amount of times I've seen a post saying something like "if you've EVER done this thing in your life, you're a horrible person!!! This triggers OCD!! How could you do that???? Be more respectful, dipshit!"

I understand telling people what they do wrong, but... Idk, maybe they could do it more gently? Instead of calling me an awful person who can't ever be redeemed because I made a mistake.

(Something like "doing this can trigger OCD for a lot of people, so you should try not to do it." would be fine, because it explains the problem and doesn't make you feel like a villain for every mistake you've made. It's just ironic how many posts I've seen trying to stop people triggering my OCD... that trigger my OCD lmao)

This was on a post about men using women for sex and yes that does happen but huhhh??

"huh" is definitely a valid response to… that.

if we're talking about rape, sexual abuse, sexual assault, molestation, women being "used" for sex, etc. then the claim (and generalisation) that men "do it only because of their own pleasure" is incorrect. sex-crimes are generally rooted in a desire for power, control, and dominance over vulnerable people. pleasure and attraction are usually not the main motivators, and claiming they are is a good way to excuse the actions of rapists and abusers.

also, needless to say, not all men are rapists, abusers, or "using" women for sex. i'd even argue that saying that they are is heteronormative.

I heard a sex repulsed ace say they didn't need to learn sex ed cause they wouldn't be having sex. Like no thats not what sex ed is, yes it does teach you how to be safe during sex but also about your body and how to recognize if somethings wrong.

For example

"If you have a period and where tampon remember to always change them ever four to eight hours! Cause toxic shock syndrome is every real and can cause you to need amputation if it gets bad enough."

And ofc it also erases the fact that some aces participate in sex.
