i imagine btw that aside from at some point probably finishing shadow gens (i've been dreadfully busy and more interested in other games) there is a non-zero chance i won't be posting much here in the future which is probably no surprise at this point, save for some niche exceptions that in all likeliness won't be Typical art and such. i can't really do much of the things im interested in currently within the confines of sonic and im having much more fun with those than i would with furries for kids. i also doubt the next game wherever that might be will be enough to grab my interest again everything considered

reporting from the frontiers modding front that the new tool i downloaded does not have animation support for its skeletons and using any other animation importer just completely breaks with it in a glorious fire of whatever this is

back at it again with the frontiers modding why are the skeletons so nasty with these new tools

i mean. in essence this is just generations with plot. and funny new abilities that work fine but could be better and utilized with more creativity i mean, where are the wings? you get them once in the beginning and im guessing they'll be back for the final boss or something, but why not make it an ability you can trigger at will and design levels with flight in mind? i can appreciate the edge in the aesthetics but if you're not doing anything interesting with it it's just. a nice coat of paint and some stage gimmicks. they could have really fucked with the formula here but it feels like they've played it safe and stuck with the boosting and it's. fine. but it's just more of the same. the most fun i've had has been in the "open world" because at least it's something fresher and i can fuck around and find paths to locations and such, the main stages are fine (and kingdom valley does invoke the original at places really nicely imo) but they really just don't scratch the itch the same. lowkey a game that makes me wish i was playing sonic 06 because at least that tried to innovate hard and do something cool with shadow's moveset that the player gets to have full control of instead of tying everything into stage features.
