so... anybody else wanna get on the boat of 'not purposeful contation but we know how it happened' and just how weirdly hot it is?
a knuckle pressed against one of their nostrils as they continue speaking - hoping to will the growing itch away.
until there is a lull in the conversation, before they mutter, exasperatedly frustrated, that they are ‘going to start sneezing/going to start sneezing again.’

when they’re in the middle of a sneezing fit and they go from covering with their sleeve to covering with their hand to not covering at all >>>
The in-between spaces:
Not in terrible pain, but not comfortable either, moving gingerly and unable to find a position that actually feels good
Not so bad that they can't focus on anything else, but still persistently nagging enough that they can't ignore it or forget about it either
No longer acutely ill or gravely injured, but not really "well" yet either, still fragile and not back to their full strength
Not incapacitated by an injury or condition, but not perfectly capable either, able to do some things just like anyone else but in other things facing additional struggles or needing to take extra caution
Not permanently life-altering, but not "you'll be fine in a few weeks" either, facing unknown months or years of gradual and frustratingly unpredictable recovery

A character getting more biting and snide when they don’t feel well, only to take a hard turn and becomes very clingy and mushy when they get even worse
Also the follow up of them coming to terms about what an asshole they were to their now caretaker
And whoever is taking care of them might love them enough to weather the snarky comments
i hear this and i raise you ( for the extra angst of course ), the guilt that plagues the character into resisting or not allowing themselves to be comforted by the caretaker when - say for example their cold starts getting worse - they don’t feel as though they deserve it, even if the whole thing as already been resolved. and maybe the caretaker finds them during the night to have snuck downstairs and curled up on the sofa instead of letting themselves be warm and cosy within their arms, flushed cheeks and glassy eyes ( that might be about to start crying ). and the caretaker has to gently remind them that of course they want to take care of them, this is partnership, and they definitely don’t need the sick character to be self deprecating, all is forgiven .
can't stop thinking about someone sneezing so desperately and/or aggressively that their only response is to swear. the other day, one of my (very attractive) coworkers said, 'oh my fucking god' after sneezing so intensely and it was so hot. like wtf why is that so attractive...?

"bloody hell" hits different in an irish/english/scottish/welsh/australian accent (they all do it so well)

Really craving some soft, soft stuff.

Poor sweetheart. Poor thing. Poor creature. Poor bastard.

Someone deciding to take a nap while sick with the hope of recharging, but then they wake up feeling so much worse.
A feels awful. (Whether that's physically, emotionally, or both is up to you.) B is holding them while they cry.
"There, there, baby," B reassures them, rubbing their back and planting an occasional kiss on their head.
A is just starting to relax, but is suddenly overcome by a tickle in their nose, which is unsurprisingly running from the crying. They release a tired, wet sneeze into B's chest.
"Oh, darling..." B holds them tighter.

A quiet evening in. A stiff throw pillow propped up against one arm of the couch where I lay, with him lying on top. Sort of. Mostly on the cushions, his arms around my middle. His head rested on my stomach, breath warming me through the fabric. The living room lighting changed shades with the bright television screen, cutting often between different faces. It was a cooking show rerun.
His breathing gave a small stutter. I pulled my gaze back to him. Brow pinching, eyes still shut. “*e‘hm!*… hmb…” Slowly, he turned and pressed his face into my shirt. “RR‘SSCHH!!-iew…”
A hot blast of air set my skin aflame as he directed his sneeze into my stomach. My hand raised to rest on his back, and gently moved up and down.
Getting home from work and finding your sweet sick partner exactly where you left them: propped up in bed, wearing pajamas, and hitching, hitching, hit--eh-eh---hitching up to a sneeze.
