You have got to get it through your head that social media is literally pushing negative content to keep you engaged. Most people are not assholes! Not by a long shot! Most people do not look like those insane beauty standards they’ve pushed on us. Social media is a trap for your mind. It convinces you the worst is normal and the rare is common, until you forget what real life actually looks like. Of course, always be aware of your surroundings because unfortunately, there will always be crappy people, but this world is a lot bigger than your feed would have you believe.

people often call ships with girl and nonbinary characters yuri when the nonbinary character has displayed no preference for feminine terms. but theres an equal argument to be made that the characters have different genders and are thus hetslop. and thats beautiful to me.

Being clocky when i was working as a barista was one of my big joys. Being clocky when i was teaching high schoolers how to play the marimba was my reason for being for half a decade. It sucks how scared I am to leave the house I live in now. But I still need to try and be clocky at the grocery store. I wish i had a job to be clocky at. Being visibly me is one of the most radical acts I'm capable of, and I hope that one day we live in a world where it isn't radical at all.

I feel like a lot of people get "All Art is Political" confused with "All Art is made with Political Intentions" which is not the same.

how the hell did I leave Morgan Wade off this list. wrote a song about being depressed, alcoholic, and suicidal and how mental illness stigma sucks, saw how much people connected with it, wrote a Part II of that song about how she's doing better now but you're never totally free of the risk of relapse. fucking icon.

This list doesn't include Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw and that is a fucking crime. It's extremely simplistic and if you're the cynical type it's corny as hell, but it's so deeply heartfelt that if you can listen to it in the spirit of "now say something real and true" you'll learn a lot.
