A Pride mural in a Lush shop window has sparked a wave of attention, with its creator highlighting its message of trans pride and visibility
That mural fucks hard and honestly of all animals to give top surgery scars to, a tiger is the best fit.
I hope it stays up.
^ here's the full thing!
You can buy stickers of it from the artist!
The Bear season 5 is so good. Clearly they just had issues from the writer’s strike with the other seasons.
Just wish watching it felt like less of a panic attack.
So many people have gone thru so much worse but the way the m'lady meme guy was treated for the crime of 1. Being fat 2. Enjoying his own fashion choices was fucking awful.
They’ll let you slander an uncool autistic dweeb with every crime in the book
as we enter another period of horrific online censorship, remember this:
you must protect the anime titty for the anime titty's sake as well as for the sake of queer people and sexual education (etc). it is good and beautiful for there to be cheesy games to masturbate to. nobody is growing hair on their palms and going blind.
kill visa and mastercard with your bare hands
They start with the anime titty, but they never stop there. Censorship is a ship that tosses a few overboard but never tells you the plan is to drown everyone on it.

hi op here and i know you all agree with me! we are not fighting, but i want to stay on the topic of my post:
even if online censorship was only going to ban stereotypical titty porn that is made for heterosexual men to jerk off to and leave all the other things alone, that would still be bad.

Watching Independence Day and then one day later Air Force One sure was interesting. (Spoilers for both below. I just had to rant about Air Force One tbh.)
Because Independence Day is patriotic and rah rah America and pro-military and all that, but it's also progressive. The lead is a black man and Emmerich had to fight for that because the studio didn't think Will Smith had star power overseas (during an era where overseas was much less important than now) (and also they absolutely meant that they thought racism would hurt the box office). Smith's love interest is a stripper and the movie is very judgemental towards anyone looking down on her for that. Smith is a stepfather to her son. And there's another stepfather storyline, but that got cut from the movie and is mostly just implied unless you watch the extended edition, which I haven't. Also, although the president is a veteran and is a pilot in the final fight, he's regarded as a wimp by the general public and is very reluctant to fight the aliens or even view them as a threat before they actually start killing people.
And one of the heroes is an environmentalist. He's obnoxious about it, but he gets to have his cool moments as well. His environmentalism also meant that we got to underline the seriousness of nuking the aliens. And he puts his money where his mouth is by volunteering for potentially a suicide mission.
Plus there's a lot of queer coding. The director is gay, so I'm sure it's intentional.
And on the other side, Air Force One is...almost fascistic? It's about the president being a tough guy. It starts with him kidnapping the leader of another country and then rather than celebrating that he declares war on basically every nation with an oppressive regime. Who cares that his allies won't like it, who cares what the voters say, it's the right thing to do! (And also it's so sexy and presidential! Or so says his wife.) And then Air Force One is hijacked and he stays on board to play action hero, because who cares that he's the president and has terrible, crushing responsibilities that he actively chose, and who cares that he's been a politician not a soldier for decades and he's going up against people who are currently soldiers and who planned and trained for this. He has to save his family!
And that's not even getting into how the neo-communists who are willing to kill a child in front of her mother just have pretty basic anti-war talking points that you'd hear from a fairly milquetoast liberal.
The presidency in Independence Day is hard. There's no good choice. Everything is a risk and the president is fully aware of how badly things could go. (I mean, before the climactic fight, but I can forgive them for throwing logic out the window at that point. They earned their big moment.) Like yeah, it's life and death in a way that Air Force One isn't, but Harrison Ford's president never considers how his actions will effect Americans or the Kazakh people he just "saved" by kidnapping their head of state. And the movie cosigns it, by making not temporarily removing him from the presidency a triumphant choice.
I watched Air Force One because I'd heard positive things about it often enough, but I just feel kinda gross after watching it.
Please stop he is drowning…..

look i reblogged this because this piece FUCKS but then
then I looked in the notes and y’know.
some people seems confused.
Why a shopping cart with stained glass?
or This would be cool to shop with
or something about religion and NO
NO
THIS. Is about HOMES.
That style stained glass? Those diamonds? They speak to me, and they say “Townhouse”. and FANCY townhouse, at that. They say “City home, old home, a home that is RICH, a shelter from the storm and a safe place for a family”.
But on! a! shopping cart!
That evokes - to me - Homelessness.
The person on the street who had no other choice but to steal the best cart they could from a store’s corral just to have a way to transport the meager belongings that are all they fucking have in this world. And it’s NOT a home or a safe place or a shelter but it’s all you fucking have!
And this piece goes and puts them fucking together! AND NAMES IT.
Yeah this is fucking ART.
A bruise is kind of like a sexier temporary tattoo
At the local hamburger shop and they said yelled out “order 167!” And three middle school age kids yelled in perfect unison “ 6 7!” Life is sometimes so beautiful

"this how we lost post editing and it was still worth it"
❌ False
The John Green Cock Monologue, while one of the most egregious examples of post editing, was not why the ability to edit posts was taken away. This feature was removed because scammers would edit posts with huge note counts to try to make their scams look legit.
"those are his hooves, bitch."
✅ True
Those are his hooves, bitch.
Getting down on my knees and thanking the humans who invented dishwashers and washing machines.
InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. It’s a win win situation
They ALSO sterilize dishes, due to operating at a far higher temperature than human hands could ever tolerate. It's a win every way.
Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
So I gave up posting updates about Reckless Ben and Bricks and Minifigs because, honestly, the story kept exploding at such speed that it was hard to summarize. And it did that thing with lawsuits where a lot is happening and also nothing is happening.
Anyways. What kicked off the whole thing was Bricks and Minifigs corporate taking over the franchise in Keizer, Oregon. The owner Chrystal notified them that she wanted to sell, since they were moving overseas, and the next day and without any notice they showed up saying that they're taking the store from her and if she doesn't leave immediately, they're calling the cops. And because they didn't hold up their end of the contract and give her the lease on the building (among other things! they blame her for violating the contract but they didn't do a lot of the things they were required to do and that caused many of the issues they say they had with her), they could do that. They could say she was trespassing.
As she lays it out, she missed payments on the lease because the lease wasn't in her name AND corporate didn't hand over the bank account like they were supposed to so the bank froze it, so payments that were supposed to be made failed. And that's what corporate used to justify taking the store over, even though it was all their fault and Chrystal was working with them to rectify it.
Oh, also, Bricks and Minifigs corporate admitted that a month before they took the store over, they were investigating specifically the inventory. So they knew the store had at least $100,000 in inventory. Likely they knew about the consignment deal and that much of the inventory hadn't been paid for. It's hard to just say outright that they were planning to steal it, because that's such an insane thing, but that's absolutely what it looks like. And they knew that she was moving overseas so her ability to fight them would be greatly hindered.
This is pretty egregious behavior if you have just one example. Except that another store owner has gone public on YouTube with his story about how the exact same thing happened to him. And a lawsuit has been located with another example. And like, three examples is a trend, especially for such a small franchise. But in an interview yesterday Chrystal said she's in contact with four other ex-store owners in the same situation, two of which may be going public soon (and two of which are staying quiet because they basically had their lives destroyed by Bricks and Minifigs corporate).
If Chrystal's lawsuit against Bricks and Minifigs goes well, there may be more coming forward. And this becoming news will hopefully protect prospective franchisees from doing business with BAM.
Also this news makes it absolutely insane that they didn't just give Bryan his Legos back or pay him off. If Bryan and Ben hadn't made it incredibly public, Chrystal wouldn't be able to afford her lawsuit and there wouldn't be attention to make it matter, and more people wouldn't have come forward, and people wouldn't be sleuthing through their financials and other lawsuits.
Maybe we can say that it's because they're criminals who fuck people over and have gotten away with it for years, so when they find another person to fuck over they're not thinking about how it could go wrong. But that they didn't realize their shit was getting exposed and go into clean up mode when Ben's first video posted and got millions of views is insane. $200,000 and they could have made it all go away. I mean, probably half that or less could have solved the problem, but at a max of $200k they could have kept their other dirty dealings quiet.
And who knows how the lawsuits will go, I don't exactly expect the law to bring justice, but this will absolutely scare at least some people away from franchising with them in the future and it's absolutely hurting their bottom line now.

This young girl uses “los,” “las” and the gender-neutral “les” — watch her explain why. —from REMEZCLA on twitter.
to all the cowards who whine “how will i explain it to my kids??” i say: how about you shut up and let your kids explain it to you.
“Ma’am, you don’t have to be a lawyer to defend someone else” wow she snapped
dammnn she really popped off with that last line though
IN THIS HOUSE WE STAN THIS KID
as someone who studies linguistics, i will never not laugh when someone says “that word doesn’t exist” like, my good bitch. if a word is regularly used by a certain amount of people then it exists. if it has its own grammatical rules then its perfectly valid. it’s part of their lexicon now, sweetie. “It’s a made up word” honey, all words are made up. Linguists didn’t just fucking excavate athens and were like BEHOLD!!! VOCABULARY!! “that word isn’t in the dictionary” dictionaries are not rule books, they’re record books. “Refrigerate” didn’t exist 200 years ago and yet here we are. a language that doesn’t adapt to an ever changing society is bound to be lost because, eventually, it won’t be able to keep up with social progress. you motherfuckers.
*street shot of zohran mamdani clad in nasty lil suit and hard hat* five months ago i was elected mayor of new york city. in that time, we have managed to COMPLETELY defeat the Staten Island Minotaur at no additional cost to the new york taxpayer
Put this in the comments but it needs to be said here too. I am so mad D20 did unsleeping city before Mamdani was mayor. Can you fucking imagine.
