How does my neighbor's smoke detector run out of batteries so fast!? I swear I hear theirs chirp like five times between when I have to change mine out.

“Ugh this prominent women in the Lesbian movement turned out to be a bisexual” “ugh this famous lesbian transitioned into a man” “ugh this queer romance writer turns out to be ace” “ugh this cis feminist author ended up being nonbinary” “ugh this writer on masculinity transitioned into a woman”
Oh no! We might have to recognize liberation as an interconnected intersectional struggle! Ahhh!!! >.<

I've got so many favorited videos on TikTok that are just non-transphobic trans jokes and I keep thinking about making a side blog to have just ample examples of how you can joke about trans people and transness without being a bigot, just to be like hey look it's possible.
Like...I've been collecting them for years with that idea.

In addition to how to turn various things, it includes:
Other useful AI Removal/Detection links
How to spot AI Hallucinations like a Reference Librarian (originally on Substack)
Library Freedom Project has a lot of handouts about AI on their Resources page
Hello person having transgender thoughts but convinced they aren't trans because they don't have the requisite amount of dysphoria they think they need
Hi I transitioned without even thinking I had dysphoria. Like later in hindsight I can go "oh that's probably what it was" but for the first year of my transition I was straight up like "I like being a guy but I like being a girl WAY more" and you can do that!! There is no prerequisite amount of suffering needed to make yourself happier.
Gonna include these tags cuz they're good
#also the thing about suffering is you often don't realize you're suffering if you've lived your whole life that way#'oh I feel mildly uncomfortable but it's not THAT bad... ohh... OHH I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW DEPRESSED I WAS'#is super common#so putting discomfort as a barrier to entry is super counterproductive#in ANY situation
#huh those are some really insightful tags I wonder who wrote them#(sorry I had to)
You got peer reviewed!
yesterday i had a nice southern teenager call me "ma'am" and then look at me and go, in a well-meaning tone, "uhhhh, if you go by ma'am. sorry if not." and i had to be like yeah man ma'am is fine. appreciate you being inclusive though. i could almost see the little warning pop up in his UI-- hold up! people with blue hair often have pronouns. are you sure you want to address this individual with a gendered term?

hi what's up. I notice you've been forced into playing The Game That Hurts People most of your life, and like most people forced into it you have been largely continuously losing. now I know losing a game sucks, especially when it's The Game That Hurts People, but unfortunately the only ethical thing to do is to stop playing.
no, I KNOW losing constantly makes you want to get a win just once, and being told you're not allowed to makes you feel cheated and resentful and just plain pissed off, and that is fair. and okay yes I hear you, why did they get to be morally righteous and correct and winning all your life but now you're being told that you can never have that, so what, they just get to be right forever and you just have to give up and lose forever ad nauseum? I get that too. but first of all let's consider that maybe the premise of them being "morally righteous and correct and winning" is a false one, right? like, maybe it wasn't okay for them to set themselves up in that position in the first place, and maybe we could describe it a different way, like being "controlling and inflexible and afraid of vulnerability".
and secondly let's not forget what the fucking game is called
#Say the name of the game
it's called The Game That Hurts People we've covered this
"historically people had servants" incorrect. historically people WERE servants, and many of us still are.
I feel like people try to explain how [historical figure] had all the time to do so many Great Accomplishments and thus go "it's because they had servants". Which is true. But then leave it at that rather than continue on to the more important point that the servants actually often were as tired and overworked and unable to have time for themselves as so many of us are. "People lived this way because they had servants" okay and how were the SERVANTS living???
I also think it's important to realize this isn't just a thing in the past.
I was once tutoring a kid and realized I was one of 8 people in the house who was "help." Me, two nannies (for 5 kids), 2 housekeepers, and 3 workers doing yard work. We were all, for lack of a better word, contracted, but we were filling all those roles just the same.
And I HOPE all 8 of us were legally employed, but there is a massive human trafficking issue amount house keeping, yard work, etc. From underpaying immigrant to straight up slavery, it is not something that is gone in our world. The US is not except in anyway from that.
I'm in your house picking your shy, uptight man like a lock.
Like this, btw. ⬆️
@anarchafemme Congrats on being the funniest person on this post.
why r callouts always like "please dont harass this person and dont go after them. anyway heres every single detail of their life gathered by stalking and their private profiles for all to see"
"please don't go after this person! now let me post this document for every single one of my followers and list every single one of their usernames"
I also see callouts that do encourage harassment and mass reporting. But yeah, the stalking and doxxing and all that shit and then saying not to go after the person? Fucking yikes!
every other week, my mom would make a giant pot of vegetable soup. she'd pack half of it in a tupperware and take it to her best friend's house. they both had three kids whose ages aligned. they'd lock us out of the house and go through each room, finding every piece of dirty laundry and then spend the afternoon keeping the washer and dryer running, folding and putting away each load while gossiping.
every alternate week, her best friend would come to our house with a tupperware full of chicken spaghetti. they'd stick us in front of a tv with a stack of disney vhs tapes and go through each room, finding every dirty dish, and then spend the afternoon at the kitchen sink, washing each dish by hand while gossiping.
it wasn't always soup and spaghetti and laundry and dishes. but it was almost always a meal and a chore. here is a night you don't have to cook dinner. here is a chore you can cross off your list. and here is a day you don't have to spend alone. because really food and friendship and a feeling of accomplishment are what we all need most.
