The small, dark shape beside him only ever shifts very slightly. There's a sleepy sigh, then an arm draping around his side, grounding him. "Right here," he's told in a whisper. This reassurance never fails to soothe him back to sleep.

Trinity comes home drunk off her ass and McKay and Victoria are trying to steer her towards her own bedroom and she just whines, “nooo, I want my Huckleberry.” and redirects to Dennis’ bedroom.

Cassie is flabbergasted when a sleepy Dennis gets up and undresses Trinity and puts her in one of his shirts before putting her in the bed and climbing in behind her.

And then he moves to a big city and he’s in these more politically correct circles, but he’s still an outsider. He grew up in these rural communities that both parties didnt give a shit about, and now he’s surrounded by people who say shitty things about his home and places like it and he’s just so fucking angry. Because these people who have never lived outside of a major city dont know what its like to live in these places, they dont know the struggle, and they dont care to know or empathise. And its just like back home, its still the same thing of “things can get better but only for some people”.
