Just because you’re part of an oppressed party does not mean you cannot hold bias against other groups or members of your own group. Bias is learned and ingrained through society and family and it takes real work to unlearn it. No one is perfect, no one is without bias and you are in fact going to fuck up now and again—what matters is if you learn from it and grow.

We have not agreed to pay for anything. Returning frozen assets is just giving Iran their own money back after we previously took it from them. And assuming that the “investment fund” that’s being discussed ever materializes at all, its structure as an investment fund means that any money put into it will be returned, likely with small profits (and besides, it will probably be more GCC money than US money). The only effect of this bullshit line of attack on the US-Iran deal is to make peace less likely.

Pro Publica followed up on this by contacting Joseph Mercola, one of the major shithead snake oil guys who previously told people to avoid the vitamin K shot, and this situation has gotten so bad that Mercola actually released a statement walking back his previous anti-vitamin K position and telling his followers to please get the shot. which is great, maybe hes growing as a person, and it will save lives, but jesus christ things have to have gotten dire for MERCOLA to be changing course on this

the amendment that "ended" slavery specifically left permission for slave labor as punishment for convinced criminals and our inmates have been legally exploited ever since, yes
