It's like. you don't get your own childhood. not "didn't get the childhood you wanted," it's "didn't get a childhood that was yours." and you're supposed to be normal about it. and people tell you Oh you didn't miss much it was bad and awful for xyz reasons you really don't Actually want to be raised as a girl. well, what if I was a girl anyway and everyone acted like I wasn't. called me a name that wasn't mine. told me I was a person I wasn't until I believed it and clung to that fake person until I saw it was cutting into my hands. it wasn't mine. that child wasn't me; wasn't allowed to be me; wasn't even allowed to know there was a me. what if, on a very real level, my childhood was not mine? what if I wanted a childhood where I was actually seen, even if it hurts? and I'm supposed to be normal about it

again. bodily autonomy, fundamental bodily autonomy HAS to have room for people doing things with their own bodies that you do not and will not approve of. if it doesnt, it is not bodily autonomy

the old "all trans people I know are mentally ill to some degree even if I don't believe being trans is itself a mental illness" line is a classic case of torturing you to insanity then torturing you for being insane

What I don't understand is how that tag is inappropriate. What is wrong about someone saying that they wish they could have used and shared this information earlier? Their phrasing was a bit flippant, but overall the general idea was "I wish I could have shared this with my classmates, who were also taking a class on this subject and therefore would also be interested in learning about this"

if you really genuinely are a former twerf, emphasis on former, then you should 1. be incredibly self-critical of the way you treat and see transfems because youve already proven succeptible to transmisogyny, and 2. be on your fucking knees apologizing to transfems and giving us your money
