I am making a Devil May Cry Magic set. All Magic cards have pictures. I just decided the Bant deck needs a board wipe that can also hose the graveyard, so I designed "The Savior Has Come," a spell based on a pivotal point in DMC4 where the Savior shows up with an army of Angelo knights to defeat a horde of demons (released by the same people that made it) that lets you destroy all of multiple types of permanent, but for each type of permanent you destroyed, you give all your opponents a Knight token to represent the Angelos that "came to the rescue." I think this is a cool, unique, and creative effect that captures a pivotal moment in the story that lets this deck have a card it needs to have. This card has to have a picture on it.

I used to design all sorts of magic cards when I was younger. (Back in the early 2000s). And I can promise you that actually, no, you don't need pictures to design magic cards. That's actually not a requirement for card design.

This does bring up another aspect about the AI discourse I find irritating that wasn’t explicitly included in my initial post is how entitled people feel towards art without any respect whatsoever for the artists whose work is scraped to create those generated images. Everyone wants art but few want to pay for it or try to make it themselves.

I think it's telling that this is presented entirely in terms of identity. It's not about creating, it's about being 'a creative'. A type of person. The act of artistic creation is treated like some kind of membership card, and AI art becomes a way to counterfeit that card.

I’m not referring to being “a creative” as an identity I am referring to it specifically as something that someone qualifies as the definition of due to repeated intentional actions. If you do not paint then you are not a painter. If you do not write then you are not a writer. If you do not sing you are not singer. I am intentionally calling out that there are now leagues of people who believe that typing a prompt into a generator constitutes the same action as drawing a picture yourself or even creating a type of collage.

So many people who constantly say shit like this are terrified of being labeled as bisexual and I sympathize with the fact that it’s difficult to reconcile with changing labels that define a huge part of your identity but at some point you have to get real and stop denying your self and emotions because of whatever preconceived notions you have surrounding sexuality. trying to validate yourself by saying gay men fuck lesbians all the time ain’t gonna do shit! It’ll be okay we can all live in peace please accept yourself

I have four kids. I’ve had one or another of them need some kind of surgical procedure that requires anesthesia four or five times over the past 15 years.

i did know this before having kids (i have six). we have a kid that's needed multiple procedures requiring anesthesia. and every single time, i am asked multiple times if i'm sure he was not given any food or water after a certain point.

They literally explained this before I got my cat spayed. Idk what y’all’s doctors are doing but in my experience vets are very clear about why there should be no food in the patient’s body during surgery.

I think what the current wave of feminism fails to understand is that men are not inherently evil. There are certainly terrible men as there are terrible women. However they are not evil. Shit, it's how you end up with young men going down nihilistic paths. These people are asking me to hate my neighbor, my coworker, my father and more simply on how they were born and not how they act? It genuinely does not make sense lol
