Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Stuff

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Thomas Malory is not and should not be treated as the be-all and end-all of medieval Arthurian literature.

I’d like to have a moment of silence for Sir Gawain. He fought bravely until the end, grievously wounded and all. He was accompanied in his final moments by his only relative, King Arthur, seeing as his brothers, mother and friends couldn’t make it. He was given his last rites, and then he passed away around noon. Sir Gawain will be very missed by many people. May he be received in the afterlife by all the maidens he assisted during his career as a knight.

there are many books I wholeheartedly recommend to people on my blog but honestly cannot even recommend reading about arthurian knights to you. it is not even a choice it just happens to you one day and you go insane posting about sir whatever from obscure thirteenth century manuscript #mymanuscript. it’s a lifestyle

if you’re not careful when reading arthurian legend you’ll end up thinking about guys with names like Bleoberis
