I feel like somehow Interview With the Vampire and Black Sails are the giving me the opposite viewing experiences where I thought the first season of IWTV hit the ground running and was absolutely brilliant from start finish but unfortunately the third season has caused me to serve divorce papers after a drawn-out feeling of disillusionment especially with regards to the treatment of the most major female character and I feel unsure if I’d watch a fourth season if it was the same quality as s3 whereas when I watched the first season of Black Sails I was like well I love pirates but ehhhh I don’t know how to feel about all of this (especially Max’s s1 rape plotline) but then show got better and better and the final season blew my tits clean off. The second experience is far preferable, I think.
