you can headcanon whoever you want as trans idc but it might be a good idea to check in from time to time what kind of patterns might exist in which characters you decide are transfem and which characters you decide are transmasc. and, yknow, what ideas that might reveal in the way you think about transgenderism and gender in general
the kotor playthrough so far: i am trapped in a jedi psyop and can do nothing about it. the council is sending me on a suicide mission (the patented Jedi Orphan GrinderTM) and so far the only person concerned about that is carth. also i've only had mission for 1 day but if anything happened to her i would kill everyone on dantooine and then myself
Fuck Meyer-Briggs whatever typology. This INTFP shit is only for redditors up their own asses to substitute for a personality. Use my new typology instead!

me, the guy who spent 3 entire years making custom mods for his cyberpunk character, watching his foot slip on this slippery slope: surely we can just make one single custom texture for our revan. just one. as a treat

One hundred and five character-building questions, split into three posts.
âĄď¸ Pt. 1 - T.A.S.T.E. - Mostly internally-driven questions.
âĄď¸ Pt. 2 - T.E.S.T. - Mostly externally-driven questions.
âĄď¸ Pt. 3 - ! - Steamy/explicit questions.
or...
â ď¸ There's an All-In-One post shortened with a Read More! (Explicit Included)
âĄď¸ There's an Almost-All-In-One post shortened with a Read More! (SFW Only)
It's an acronym! And also... each question hopefully provokes a good nibble of OC lore.
â°Time
1. By their nature, are they more of a morning person or a night owl? Is there a reason? Does their lifestyle generally allow them to keep to their preferred waking hours? If not, how do they handle it?
2. How well do they manage their time? Are they generally easily side-tracked or distracted? What about when they have an important objective or obligation? How do they feel about their habits?
3. Is there a season of the year that they prefer above others? Is that preference because of some enjoyable aspect of their preferred season, or due to disliked aspects of the other season(s)? Do holidays play a part in their ranking? Weather? Certain memories?
4. Do they prefer to make plans for the future or to take life as it comes? What has shaped this preference? Do they generally feel that their habits serve them well?
5. Do they remember or keep track of dates like birthdays and anniversaries? Of their own accord, or when prompted, do they like to celebrate/commemorate such dates, or do they prefer to let them pass quietly?Â
6. What is the earliest memory of their life that they can recall? Are there any details that stick out or are particularly clear? Is their memory fairly accurate or has it been distorted in any notable way? Has the memory been influenced by any recountings or other events in the time since it occurred?Â
7. If they had been asked, as a child, to assemble a time capsule for themself to open as an adult, what would they have included? What was the significance of those items to them at that age? If they opened that time capsule as an adult (at least a decade later), would they recognize the objects and recall their significance?
8. How do they feel about the passage of time and aging? Do they feel they have made good use of their time so far? Do they look forward to the future?
9. If they could relive any 24 full, continuous hours from their past, without the ability to alter their behavior or any events, would they choose to do so? Why, or why not? If they would relive the time - what 24 hours would they choose?
10. If given the opportunity to learn exactly when, but not how, they will die, would they take it? Given time, would they come to regret that decision? Why, or why not?
đ§Adaptation

18. Are there skills they have picked up with more ease than they expected? Were their expectations inaccurate for a reason, did they have help of some kind, or were other factors at play? How do they feel about the ease with which they acquired the skill?
19. When a situation calls for it, how willing are they to alter their behavior or manner of dress to fit the expectations or preferences of others? For how long? How do they feel about such a change?

39. Do they ever think about their place in the universe, their purpose, or the meaning of life? Have they drawn any conclusions? If they have, how do they feel about them?
40. Do they consider their own ideas and opinions to be worthwhile and valuable? If they share their ideas and opinions with others, do those others generally find them to be worthwhile or valuable? Are there any experiences in their life (events, connections, media, locations, etc.) which they regularly revisit specifically for the sake of reliving the experience (not for convenience, obligation, etc.)? Do they find that the revisited experience continues to live up to their expectations, or are they chasing some now-absent novelty/magic?
43. When experiencing something new, if given the choice, are they more likely to breeze through and gain a surface-level understanding/appreciation first, perhaps revisiting parts later, or to take a slow and in-depth approach from the get-go?
44. Have they ever had a mundane experience transformed into something more significant by its recontextualization through the lens of anotherâs perspective? What in particular made them see it differently?

i started playing shadowrun: hong kong a couple months ago and fell in love with the worldbuilding/lore/story, so i decided to transcribe the game convos as i went and add additional details, action tags, dialogue etc to them. because the pc doesn't really get a lot of action tags and such in the dialogue options (although the range of dialogue options given in convos is Very Good imo, lots of different flavors for character building) i just wanted to like,,, add more depth to my character and make the story his, if that makes sense?
more details/a little snippet under the readmore, if you'd like:
my character's name is kazimir; he and one of the other major characters, duncan, grew up on the streets together and were at some point adopted by a guy named raymond black. kaz and duncan haven't seen or spoken to each other since kaz left raymond's house 8 years prior to the game; now they've been called to hong kong by their adoptive father, who does not show up to the planned meeting. things quickly spiral downwards from there.
(kaz spent most of those 8 years in a corporate prison with no contact to the outside world, which duncan didn't know. he thinks kaz just left him behind, basically. it adds a lot of tension between them in the early game.)
when they were younger, kaz was very much the leader of the pair; he was responsible for keeping duncan's temper in check and overall just... being the responsible one. getting things done. the brains of the operation. he was abandoned by both of his parents as a child due to being born an elf (spontaneous genetic mutation--both his parents are human), so he feels he's got to be useful to make people want him around.
this early game interaction is one of the things that inspired that particular piece of characterization (snippet is largely game text, but i added the actions/descriptions/etc to kaz's dialogue):
Duncan: [He drops his hands and turns to Kaz, shaking his head in disbelief.] I think Iâm gonna lose it.
Kazimir: [He shrugs, a slight movement of his shoulders. No judgement.] Go ahead. Weâre alone.
[Wu walks to the wall of the subway station silently. He stands there a moment lost in thought, and then his fists explode in a flurry of punches. He hits the wall hard, sending plaster crumbling to the floor at his feet.]
[The ork breathes heavily for a moment, head down, hands on hips. Spent.]
Duncan: Carter is dead, Kaz.
Duncan: They fucking ended her.
Duncan: [He puts a hand to his forehead.] I donât know what Iâm gonna do now.
Kazimir: [He shifts his weight from one foot to the other, considering.] Sounds like she was more than just your partner.
Duncan: [He turns to Kaz with a blank face.] More than just a partner? Of course she wasâ
Duncan: [Then he gets it and his hackles raise.] She was my training officer, you idiot. My mentor.
Kazimir: [Heâs fishing. Or prodding.] It looked like you two were close.
Duncan: [Wu waves him off with a gnarled hand.] Carter was my partner. She had my back.
Duncan: Do you get how important that is? What it means to lose that?
[Kazimirâs face is carefully blank. Heâs letting Duncan take it out on him.]
kaz lets duncan take out his anger on him, purposefully needles him just enough to direct that anger towards himself, because it's what duncan needs in that moment. because kaz will always take one for the team. because even after 8 years, he'll immediately step back into the role of the guy who "just handles things" without hesitation. because it's duncan.
so to have duncan question whether he understands what it's like to lose a partner, the person you trust to have your back, as if kaz didn't spend 8 years missing his brother more than anything? it's... oof.

I'll answer the both of these at once, @sepvlchres @nettlesandbugs
This is where my dragon nerd shows.
Draconology is an original work that was born from my extreme hatred of the "wyverns vs. dragons" argument. Like it genuinely gets under my skin. They're fantasy creatures, it literally doesn't matter, and people should be able too use their imagination and creativity without someone going "well, actually, it's not a dragon because sdkfslkdfkls" unsolicited.
Anyways.
I had just witnessed one such argument when I decided, fuck it, I'll make my own rules.
Confusion regarding what counts as a dragon is only exacerbated by the massive biological diversity in draconic species. Their attunement to our worldâs magic make dragons extremely adaptable to their habitats, with generations of egg clutches often looking vastly different from their ancestors.
This is how the different genera came to be over generations, though all species of dragons trace their lineage back to one ancestor: Draco repens minor, the now extinct lesser drake. The lesser drake was a small, lizard-like, wingless dragon that survived by spreading across the realm and adapting to their environment over generations, thus creating new species of drake and eventually breeding out the original.Â
Draco inermis, the sauriwyrm genus formerly known as saurian inermis, was the breakthrough needed to link the obscure extant dragons to their ancestors. A strange little creature, the sauriwyrm was initially thought to belong to the Sauridae family due to its lack of arms and wings, and its bipedal, raptor-like stance, but was discovered to be directly descended from the lesser drake by magigeneticists at {ACADEMY FOR MAGIC AND SCIENCE NAME} a few decades ago.
This discovery upended everything we thought we knew about dragons.
people might think creating OC lore involves a lot of thinking & planning, but in my personal experience, OC development is more like a divine vision from a god slamming you over the head with a mallet while ur doing the fuckin dishes or folding laundry
