When did we lose sight of the light?

im not saying that these creators are above criticism or anything so callous but you all have to know on some level that getting really personal about these people isn't healthy, right? and that multiple people work on these properties, not just one person? you just Cannot analyze character arcs anymore without people butting into the conversation to explain their weird freaky headcanons about "actually the only thing here worth analyzing is the fact the writer is bitter and lonely and jaded and—" what the FUCK are you talking about???? HOW did you think this contributes to the conversation???? how did an attempt at media analysis for fun turn into some shitty bitter elementary school gossip???

and i know people will assume the fandom this post is about based on my blog (and it IS about that) but this goes for SO MUCH media nowadays. this is everywhere. i'll take a peek into a fandom for a new cartoon that came out and be met with hellfire beyond my wildest comprehension because some fan-favorite character didn't get enough attention or something equally vapid. "is [x cartoon] the worst fandom of all time?", everyone asks, as if it's not Most of Them. its inescapable. i cannot express enough how hostile the mere idea of being a professional creator is nowadays because of this culture. meanwhile everyone just perpetuates it like it's acceptable to speak violent fantasies of, or just generally constantly whine about, someone who worked on an episode of a cartoon you didn't like.

no, you don't actually know any of the things you are saying about these people's personal lives or beliefs. you don't know any of what you're saying. "but i heard—" i don't care. this is gossip. and i don't care if there's some tweet that vaguely supports your theory, either. these are real people and not characters. you cannot just form 'headcanons' about them based on implication. have you never had your words misunderstood? have you never worded a thought poorly? this is not interesting gossip. it's not thoughtful. it just makes you look bitter and vaguely creepy, and it's ruining fandom spaces. media analysis isn't fun when all the replies and comments are more interested in childish gossip than actually engaging in art. writing stories or comics isn't fun when the comments use your work as a vessel to complain about all the writers they have parasocial thoughts on, either.

The bedroom that was once a prison for him, with all the trappings of games and fun things to do with friends, but no actual friends allowed in the space, has become an actual safe haven for friends to hang out and relationships to build.

This can ONLY happen because Gabriel is gone. He has his freedom, he has his rings, and he has the ability to have friends in his space in the way he always dreamed of. Ladybug gave that to him when she battled his father. It was her actions that made Gabriel change his wish.

She's travelled the world looking for the answers on how to protect everyone. She's the one who lies and suffers in silence to protect him. Just like with what he thinks of Gabriel, yes it hurt him, but it's the only thing letting him learn who he is.

Both Marinette and Gabriel have had possession of Adrien's amoks, yet only One chose to return them freely to him and allow him to make his own choices. At any time Marinette could order Adrien to see his father as she wishes, or when he broke up with her she could order him to forget, and yet she doesn't.

Marinette backed off of Adrien when he was in a relationship with Kagami and tried her hardest to be happy for them. Gabriel would do anything to force him into the relationship he wants for him, and even that is more him selling his son off for his goals than any genuine desire for something good for his son.

Marinette has made one, massive mistake in choosing to lie to Adrien (I don't think her lying to the world was a mistake). And yet even then she had so many other competing priorities. It wasn't just her involvement in Gabriel's death she was trying to hide. It was an effort to prevent blowback from coming for her friends. It was a decision born of a desire to not have Adrien blaming himself for his mother's death. It was a decision born of a desire to allow him the normal life she so desperately wants.

She’s technically a monster too. She might not look it at first glance and seems mostly human, but it isn’t deniable even despite her looks compared to the other monsters. 

But she realizes that she is still not like the rest of the monsters either and may not have entirely the same experiences as them, which is why she feels that she might not belong to or deserve to go to the support group. By sometimes passing as human, she feels she isn’t worthy of the space. 

The sad reality though is even though she’s mostly human in appearance, that tail she has undeniably would still cause her some struggle. Humans are still gonna look at that tail and think she’s a freak. There are probably still accommodations she needs because of the tail that she may still struggle to have access to. Even if it is just the tail, that tail is still enough to other her from humans and cause her problems and discrimination. 

She should get to belong in that support group even if she gets told she’s not monster “enough”. She still shares some of the same struggles as them that are caused by being a monster, and needs support.

Even with perfect training data and unlimited computing power, AI models will still confidently tell you things that are completely false. This isn't a bug they're working on. It's baked into how these systems work at a fundamental level.

And their own numbers are brutal. OpenAI's o1 reasoning model hallucinates 16% of the time. Their newer o3 model? 33%. Their newest o4-mini? 48%. Nearly half of what their most recent model tells you could be fabricated. The "smarter" models are actually getting worse at telling the truth.

Here's why it can't be fixed. Language models work by predicting the next word based on probability. When they hit something uncertain, they don't pause. They don't flag it. They guess. And they guess with complete confidence, because that's exactly what they were trained to do.

The researchers looked at the 10 biggest AI benchmarks used to measure how good these models are. 9 out of 10 give the same score for saying "I don't know" as for giving a completely wrong answer: zero points. The entire testing system literally punishes honesty and rewards guessing.

So the AI learned the optimal strategy: always guess. Never admit uncertainty. Sound confident even when you're making it up.

OpenAI's proposed fix? Have ChatGPT say "I don't know" when it's unsure. Their own math shows this would mean roughly 30% of your questions get no answer. Imagine asking ChatGPT something three times out of ten and getting "I'm not confident enough to respond." Users would leave overnight. So the fix exists, but it would kill the product.

This isn't just OpenAI's problem. DeepMind and Tsinghua University independently reached the same conclusion. Three of the world's top AI labs, working separately, all agree: this is permanent.

So I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a gameplay prompt that doesn't activate on easier difficulties, but....

There's extra dialogue for Fox Hinako that appears in the "Ebisugaoka in Silence" boss fight that I just Never saw during my playthrus.

This is so important for understanding Hinako's feeling about Kotoyuki!! Like look at these lines:

Not only does she want to reciprocate his feelings, she talks about a side of Kotoyuki that isn't mentioned anywhere else in the game: He struggled with having to give up his life for his first love, the exact same situation Hinako herself is in.

She is thinking it's a once in a life time chance, but here she isn't thinking about the money or the wedding, but moreso about having someone by her side. Keeping in mind this happened at a time where Hinako felt lonely and misunderstood, this ended up adding pressure to answer to his feelings because she was afraid of losing someone who wanted to walk with her, someone she states in her diary she wished she could find

This imo kinda recontextualizes Fox Hinako's passivity, because once Hinako is reassured in that Kotoyuki is willing to wait for her and that she won't lose her chance to find someone who feels this way about her, Fox Hinako becomes more pro-active in her mentioning wanting to be with Kotoyuki (like her being the one to propose rather than the reverse)

This also explains why Hinako might have genuinely considered the wedding as an option on her own, independantly of her parents's influence rather than being fully opposed to it and why she has such a hard time deciding because again, if Hinako was fully against it, she wouldn't be torn apart like that, that's precisely because she feels lost between these two desires that she doesn't know what she wants anymore

This also suggests that what she feels for Kotoyuki is something that none of her friends can offer her, including Shu which ties back to what Fog Hinako tells the memory Hinako at the Shimizu residence when you are locked for ending 3. And we do see it, she and Shu can't get past the friendship relationship, because this would mean acknowledging their gender and the fact they grew up, but this also means that Hinako lost this "chance" she found in Kotoyuki and that she ended up falling back to that prior loneliness. Granted she comes to vent to Shu and he matters to her, but the fact she still relies so heavily on pills + her correspondance with Kotoyuki suggests that Shu was not enough for her and considering that Shu tends to dismiss Hinako's desires that are more "feminine" or that we see him playfully tease Hinako like a kid while she seems to be over it, it further supports this idea.

That's also suggesting that Fox Hinako isn't trying to be submissive because she wants to follow society but simply because she is afraid of losing Kotoyuki, and given how Hinako's view of men and women relationship is heavily influenced by her trauma, she is even more likely to want to repress herself. Basically, acting to avoid a worse case scenario, even though she still has her own anxiety regarding what could happen in this wedding.

In the first one, the owl gets startled by another owl popping out of a computer screen. This says, “One. Don’t send screamers. Seriously, don’t.”

The second one shows an owl flirting with another owl. This says, “Two. Don’t play with people’s feelings. Examples:

“Don’t fake ask someone out.

“Don’t fake hate/be angry at them.

“Don’t lie that something bad has happened to someone/something important to them.”

The third one shows an owl wearing a bandage on their head, and a hospital IV drip attached to their wing. This says, “Three. Don’t fake an illness. Especially terminal and/or incurable ones.”

The fourth one shows an empty dotted outline where an owl has been. This says, “Four. Don’t pretend to leave, break up, or fake suicide.”

The fifth one shows an owl reading a newspaper with their feathers all fluffed out in distress. This says, “Five. Don’t spread malicious fake information: fake virus threats, fake tragic events, or fake celeb deaths.”

The final panel has a close-up on the owl’s face with their eyes glowing red, yelling, “Seriously, don’t be a butt!”

Instead of cursing her to an eternal sleep or death, Maleficent declares that the princess will grow up to betray the kingdom and serve her instead. So the king sends Aurora away, but one day the young adventurous girl strays a bit too far and right into her territory.
