Science, Cats, and ?

I barely read for fun 10 years ago, which is wild to me. I was finishing up my senior year of college/starting grad school and so fried from reading textbooks and scientific papers that I could hardly focus on something for fun. That actually continued for a long time after that, and I really just got back into reading in the last 4-ish years. I was definitely an all the time reader up until college though.

It's actually super unethical to keep a peeve as a pet

sure you don’t owe anyone anything, but still giving a little kindness and patience can go a long way

so many people ive known have pushed themselves to burnout trying to deny their disabled reality, skipping accommodations, skipping rests etc. and the world convinces them that the solution to their burnout is to push even harder. it’s a huge tragedy. i know social pressures make it tough but i want more disabled people to make things easier for themselves where possible, to opt out of things that harm them when possible, to quit while they’re ahead. be that person today! protect yourself where you can! take micro breaks while doing your hobby. get that shower chair. sit to brush your teeth. lie down in the middle of the day, even if only for 5 mins. these things add up and it’s so worth it.

being at work while your personal life is falling apart has to be among the top 3 worst human experiences. You’re at your absolute lowest and someone wants to circle back on an email…… unreal

practicing self care less out of self love and more for the sheer logical reasoning of it’d be kinda stupid of me to expect myself to be able to function without proper maintenance

“oh i don’t deserve rest and relaxation, i haven’t done enough, i haven’t earned it” and my car’s breaks don’t deserve break fluid because they aren’t breaking well enough to earn it. that’s what you sound like!!!!!

I came back different but you still love me, right? even though I've changed and you don't recognize me any more? You don't just love the memory of me you've kept in your heart all these years, you have space to love me as I am now, don't you?
