This Cubano Sandwich is a great way to spice up your lunch! The sandwich has ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and mayo between two Cuban rolls. It's a classic Cuban dish.
Ingredients: 4 Cuban rolls. 1 pound roasted pork shoulder, thinly sliced. 8 slices ham. 8 slices Swiss cheese. 1 cup dill pickles, thinly sliced. 1/4 cup yellow mustard. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter.
Instructions: Slice the Cuban rolls in half horizontally. Spread mustard on one half of each roll and mayonnaise on the other half. Layer the bottom half of each roll with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles. Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the rolls. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter. Place the Cubano sandwiches in the skillet and press them down with a heavy pan or a sandwich press. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted. Remove from the skillet, cut each sandwich in half, and serve hot.
