I had a Kakashi bookmark so we held it up against the screen as a joke but the static actually cleared up. Mystified, we tried different bookmarks and objects with the same plastic material but nothing else worked, only the Kakashi bookmark.

We ended up taping it to the corner of the screen and it stayed there for 11 years until we moved out. When I was older people would be like “can you move the bookmark off the screen” bc it did sort of block a bit of the view but I would demonstrate the static issue and everyone was always just like “huh. what the hell?? well…alright.”

I've already started seeing Sora videos pop up on other platforms, so just know that if you see this watermark logo:

the video is AI generated. Some of them can be very convincing, so I just wanted to let people know if you haven't already heard of it.

From what I've learned, some hallmarks are:

- watermarks OR blurred watermarks (Sora is at the top and/or middle right usually)

- always check who posted it!! a lot of accounts that post one will be posting majority AI slop, and some videos that are claimed to be AI might just be people who are actually talented (user slinkyjosh on Instagram, for example)

- simultaneously good and bad quality (like I mentioned, the graininess is pervasive)

- things disappearing and reappearing where they shouldn't be, especially in the background or with textures!

- physics that are just wrong (yes, Sora is decent at it, but it still has some really bad mistakes)

- anything with Jake Paul. he's sold his likeness to Sora

- lighting that doesn't make sense for the location!

- inconsistent timestamps!! it might look good for a few seconds, but it'll mess up

- movements that are FAR too smooth

It can definitely be difficult and we all make mistakes recognizing them, but it just takes some practice! If it seems "off," scroll past that video and (if you feel like it's necessary), block the account that posted it :]]
