zane boodram and coach wiebe get wyatt hayes on their team and they're like okay yes we can win some games!! then they find out ILYA ROZANOV wants to sign with them and not continue in boston and wiebe is texting bood like hey guess who your alternate captain and starting centre is. bood is like what the fuck we could make the playoffs for real. but he thinks they'd get eliminated round one. then they sign troy barrett who while known as league asshole #2, is really good at hockey. and maybe not really an asshole. they actually have a real shot at making the playoffs??? and doing well??? for the first time in bood's whole career??? best day of his and wiebe's life. they're going out for drinks with their wives and celebrating like WE are so back. then they see luca haas play and they're like wait a minute...wait...we could really do something with this.

I work with kids and sometimes we have to do safety lessons with them about like, not telling strangers on the internet your home address or something. And sometimes the kids wont understand why, so you have to impart upon them that, well, some adults want to hurt children. And thats kind of difficult to do, because you have to beat around the bush, both because you dont want to scare them (while still making them understand how serious it is) and because you might lose your job if you explain it too straight forward.

i see everyone in the notes talking about newpipe but nobody's talking about youtube alternatives for desktop

so i was super pissed and concerned about this but i have just discovered that while this is true, it is apparently only true for google chrome users. i just tested this by having ten tabs open in firefox playing ten different youtube videos at the same time and my cpu usage spiked to 25% as the videos were loading and then dropped back down to 10% as they played.

During my last re-watch of The Return of the King it struck me how ugly and stupid evil is. Kudos to PJ and Co for not aestheticizing the baddies, even resisting the temptation to make Sauron sexy. The Witch King is scary but without substance, defeated by a depressed girl and her pint-sized bestie. The army of Mordor is huge in number but quakes at the sound of Rohan's arrival. They can't even keep a crown of flowers from forming around the fallen statue of a king, only replace his head with a dumb rock and scraps of rusty, twisted metal. The Dark Lord is powerful and dangerous, yes, but he's not all-powerful and he's not infallible. Even his great burning eye is focused in all the wrong places. He uses smoke and mirrors to impress and corrupt Saruman, and to drive Denethor to despair—Denethor, who could have welcomed home the King. (Instead, he wallows in grief, capitulates to fear, and grows bitter in grumbling over Rohan's presumed betrayal. Note how this parallels Gollum instilling suspicion and doubt in Frodo regarding brave and loyal Sam.) The enemy is a liar and a deceiver, and Aragorn knows this when he silences the Mouth of Sauron and says, “I do not believe it. I will not!”
