SATORU making the infinity around his fingers bigger when you whine about needing his cock but he's already cum and (while he can technically use RCT to heal himself and get hard again) he finds it funny how you gasp at the feeling of infinity fucking you open instead.
just something i whipped up for pride month. youre welcome gay community
it was nothing really
i like to believe that ophelia’s madness gave her a kind of meta knowledge of the plot— that she saw the tragic ending coming, knew that hamlet’s indecision would be his hamartia, that she realised gertrude and claudius were both poisoned with corruption from the beginning and instead of the customary funeral goers laying flowers at a grave, it was Ophelia— mad, at death’s door, about to die in less than 2 scenes— who handed flowers to the king, queen and protagonist as if the dead girl was mourning the living
More favourite useless wizard archetypes:
Wizard who knows exactly four spells, and who suffers from the world's worst case of "when all you have is a hammer" syndrome
Wizard whose magic has predictable side effects that it somehow never occurs to them to take into account until after the fact
Wizard who could have done that at any time, but nobody asked
Wizard whose "magic" is mostly legerdemain, except for one specific, completely unhinged miraculous feat they can do for real
Wizard who's never tried this before, but the theory is sound
Wizard whose powers kind of suck, but who insists they're the greatest in the land, and you can't prove otherwise because you don't know any other wizards
Wizard who wishes to make it clear that they advised against this and will not be held responsible for the consequences

romance is lame and overrated i love mentor/mentee relationships in fiction and especially when theyre sort of fucked up
greatest hits:
- You started out as a bet/challenge to see if I could successfully wrangle the infamous Problem Child but oh whoops I got attached!
- You are my kind, bright-eyed protegé who would never do so much as rip a tag off a mattress. anyway I am going to acquaint you with Criminal Activity
- I showed you genuine kindness and it was maybe the first time you’d ever experienced it and accidentally ended up becoming more of a parent to you than your “real” blood family ever was. Uh. Do you want to play catch in the park or
- I will gladly take any punishment meant for you. I would go to the ends of the earth to protect you, even if it meant I had to die in the process. I would do it a thousand times over, and I wouldn’t regret any of it.
- I taught you how to fight, and now through some circumstance or another, I’m forced to engage you in life-or-death combat without holding back.
- I put you through training from hell to make you the person you are today, for “your own good”, and now you’ve realized that you can hit back. And you can hit hard.
- I have made you into something greater than yourself - but you are changing from how I have designed you, and this is something I cannot allow.
- I taught you everything you know, and it was the greatest mistake I’ve ever made.
- I will make you just like me - by force, if necessary.
stop taggin this with ships / “and then they kiss” / “but what if it WAS romantic” you are missing the whole point of this post so bad. this is a Certified Aro Post. get weird about platonic dynamics NOW
hey guys. do you ever think about hamlet amping up his antic disposition and being especially unhinged around the ones that are supposed to care for him, just for a reaction, any reaction, that would prove they still loved him. and then just completely crumpling when he learns they just think he was mad for love. because he was. just not the type that they were talking about.
ok i have posted about this before but hands down one of the funniest moments in much ado is when literally the PRINCE OF ARAGON don pedro, after seeing her cousin get proposed to, abruptly and somewhat inexplicably proposes to beatrice—who like for all we can tell is probably down on her luck, living with her uncle and cousin with no mention of parents, very likely an orphan of not great means—and she just laughs it off and he laughs and they move on and this is never, NEVER mentioned again. then she marries his friend
imagine being don pedro. you go to their wedding and that same friend, after kissing her in front of you (kissing girl you proposed to…one week ago?) promptly turns to you and is like well gee whiz pal, this marriage thing isn’t so bad after all! you ever considered getting yourself a wife?? i would leave the country

the part in hamlet 2009 when ophelia takes the condoms out of laertes' suitcase lives rent free in my mind. she just walked over to it and reached in with 0 hesitation. how did she know exactly where he put them. why is laertes taking two (2) condoms to france

I am always thinking about the performance of hamlet I saw last summer where they started mopping the blood off the stage after the bows while the audience was still leaving. I think this was a practical choice because, you know, fake blood everywhere, but god did it feel right as a closing image
thinking about the end of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead where horatio is trying to give the audience the weight of the tragedy and to speak for hamlet and let him have a deservedly weighty ending but fortinbras is coming in to sweep up the bodies and get the military political machine going and the curtain falls mid speech
"One big question about Hamlet focuses on what a Catholic ghost talking about a Catholic purgatory is doing in an apparently Protestant play. After the religious turmoil of the middle years of the 1550s, Elizabeth's accession marked the establishment of Protestantism as the religion of England: Catholicism was outlawed and driven underground. Two particular doctrinal differences are often used to focus the theological disagreements between Catholicism and Protestantism. The first is the question of transubstantiation and the physical presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The second is more obviously stageworthy: the presence, provenance, and reliability of ghosts. In Hamlet, the ghost's description of his imprisonment 'confined to fast in fires / Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature / Are burnt and purged away' (1.5.11-13) describes the outlawed theology of purgatory, just as the ghost's very presence is anathema to Protestant doctrine, which could not allow that anyone returned from the dead. Horatio, alumnus of a distinctly Protestant university in Wittenberg, a place indelibly associated with Martin Luther's radical challenge to the Catholic Church in 1517, expresses more orthodox reformed views. He questions what the ghost intends, warning Hamlet not to follow: it 'might deprive your sovereignty of reason / And draw you into madness' (1.4.54-5)."
—Dr. Emma Smith, This is Shakespeare (emphasis mine; this sums up pretty well what i couldn't cover about religion in my post on why hamlet isn't dithering. the fact that the ghost is clearly catholic and yet hamlet has been going to THEE martin luther university... either the catholics are right or The Devil Is Here)
