“I know this dream of life is never ending, it goes around and round and round again…” Jane finishes singing just before the curtains close.

Heavy applause fills the air while Ocean sneers at Noel.

“Why did you point at me in my song!?” She practically yells in Noel's direction.

“Because, you're a freaky monster. Also, people laughed” Noel simply brushed off insulting her.

“Curtain call…” Jane's haunting voice reminds them all that they need to look presentable.

After taking bows and things of the sort Karnak rises from his booth and escorts the teens away from the stage. The fairgrounds are mostly empty, nobody pays any mind to them.

Soon, they arrive at the warehouse of the fair. The place Jane's learned to call home. Catered to the kids’ needs by having their own rooms and belongings to go with it.

Karnak is about to speak when Noel nods at Jane and drags him away to talk about the show.

“That was a good crowd” Ricky offers a conversation as soon as Karnak is out of sight.

“It's really was,” Jane agrees before starting the conversation she really wanted to have “Say, I noticed something before the show”

Constance pipes up, now seemingly intrigued.

“What'd you notice?”

Jane looks down, debating whether this was a good time to bring it up. Or maybe they'll just think she's crazy. Wouldn't make much of a difference. She thinks as she breathes in.

“I noticed I could move my hands.” The serious tone seemed to throw off her classmates.

“Uhh. Yeah? Get in line, Jane,” Ocean rolls her eyes.

“I-I know that! But doesn't it feel different? Like I could do it!” Jane continues to try and get her point across.

It doesn’t seem to work.

“What are you saying?” Constance has a concerned look on her face and her smile has dropped.

“We have free will. Karnak,” the headless girl makes sure to lower her voice at the mention of his name, “Isn't controlling us.”

Instead of agreeing or giving it some thought like Noel did, her friends look terrified. Well, Ricky looks terrified.

“Y-your eyes” his voice is shaky as he points.

“What's wrong with them” Jane cocks her head to the side.

“They're not all black!” Constance has the brightest smile on her face.

Jane takes a moment to take in what was just said to her.

“What?-” was all she could muster before Ocean cut her off.

“She's just trying to scare us” Ocean yet again rolls her eyes, but takes a step away from Jane.

“I promise I'm not” The doll brings a hand up to her eye, trying to feel for anything different.

Ocean looks like she's ready to say something else as Mischa runs up practically jumping up and down.

“Guys!” He starts, trying to find the English wording, “I have wi-fi up in this bitch! Talia has answered me!”

Ocean lets out the biggest sigh.

“We've finally driven poor Mischa to insanity.” She pauses, thinking of how to say her next words nicely “Sweetie, we're dead! There's no way she answered you.”

Jane stalks up behind Ocean just as she finishes her sentence.

“If we're really dead, then why am I still here?” Ocean jumps at Jane's voice from behind her

“That's a really good point… why are you still here? N-not that I don't love you, but…” Constance let's her voice fade, as she's made her point.

“I HAVE A THEORY!” ☝️🤓 Ricky says matter-of-factly.

Ocean sigs as she reluctantly lets him continue

“Go on.”

Ricky's smirk drops sinister as he sinply suggets:

“We're ghosts trying to pass back into the living realm. And we all try to in different ways.” He pauses for dramatic effect, “For example, Mischa has his phone. Jane actually ‘comes back to life’ in the show, and Noel can interact with the audience. But, of course we all primarily try to with the show. We are aware the living can see us. Also-”

“KARNAK!” Noel practically shouts Karnak's name before quieting his conversation.

It was a warning to wrap it up.

“But-” Ricky displays a puppy-dog face in Noel's direction, who purposefully walked in first.

“Quit. Your. Yapping. I've stalled him for long enough” Noel says through gritted teeth, voice just above a mumble.

Karnak then walks into the room.

“I believe it's time for you to go to your rooms” Karnak raises his eyebrow and looks at all of them, “Goodnight, no show tomorrow”

Jane watches as Karnak walks away with no other words.

Mischa is the first one to speak up as he runs over to Noel.

“Noel! Noel, look! She answered me!”

“That's… Wonderful, Misch!” Noel does his best to suppress his disappointment as Mischa jumps up and down like a child on Christmas.

Ocean rolls her eyes at the sight.

“Karnak told us to go to bed.”

“Why do we even listen to Karnak-” Jane begins to question as Ocean snaps and cuts her off.

“Oh-kay, creepy. Love that you're gaining consciousness. But, now is NOT the time, got it?”

Jane feels her eyes shift back to black as she puts her head down. Why won't Ocean just hear her out?

“Cукa” Mischa glares at the redhead.

“I know what you said isn't nice, but thank you.” Ocean smiles in contentment.

“BED, CHILDREN!” Everyone hears Karnak in their minds.

Jane shivers as Constance mutters ‘Sorry,’. Karnak is still in their heads, whether or not he has control.

Addition to my AU... I'm stuck on what to do with Ricky

Because at the beginning of the story, he can walk and talk just fine

I'm wondering if I can just sum that up to Karnak controlling him? Like, I don't want to erase his disability for the sake of the story or making it easier for me to write

I have an idea for an AU, and was wondering if anyone would read it?

I have it in shitty storyboard/half assed drawing rn, but I'm also working on writing it.

The AU is where Karnak has them all believe they are still dead, but he brought them all back to life to do the show! (He can still control them)

He has the public believe that they are just actors 😌

(Yes, I know Karnak ALSO died... but what if he didn't?)

Jane soon realizes something is off and that she actually has a neck and her head is on there just fine, she also starts forming back into Penny the more she realizes something is up

Soon, she informs the rest of them

And... Mischa has Wi-fi up in dis bitch?!?

So, he explains to Talia... and he venmo her all of his savings so she can come to Canada to see their show

And get them out of there

Now, it's escape to America! (Because I'm American and know nothing about Canada!)

Will Karnak find them? And also, won't people recognize them as the kids who died on that Rollercoaster? Stay tuned, chat!

I was watching an animatic, and I realized that the entire ding dang cart like, DERAILED (I know they say it all the time, but I'm a visual learner 😭)

So! I'm thinking something drove the kids to let go, and that's why they all hit the ground.

Maybe seeing Penny die? Like, some sort of debris from the actual coaster caused her head to go "wheeee" and her body was maybe still in the cart?

So, Ocean? (Because she seems the most perceptive in this situation) saw her head flying, and in one last ditch attempt to save themselves (the cart was about to like crash into the actual coaster, maybe?...)

Ocean shouted, "Everyone let go! Get out of the cart!"

And, well. They trusted her, I guess... and then yeah.

Also, I realized Constance wasn't screaming. I think she reached out to Oce because she was like "I kinda hate you, but you were a best friend to me if I had to choose one"

Also. I'm about firm believer that they WERE friends, just Ocean didn't know how to be a really good one 😌

Also, maybe Ricky dodged whatever caused Penny's head to disappear, and that's how he ended up falling out? (Letting go, leaning too far)
