We all know Karnak is emotionless, or at least can't feel stuff like empathy, but I need to share that, since he bullies Ocean so much, in any of my AUs where Ocean hasn't transitioned yet at the time of ✨The Accident™✨ He calls her by the gender she actually is, and not the one she's still presented as in the closet.
Like in a transfem AU where Forest hasn't transitioned yet, he says "The Most Successful Girl in Town" still, and Forest is left P A N I C K I N G while everyone else is super confused(/I know what you are-ing, in Noel and Ricky's cases), and so he goes on his little rant as a distraction and then in his song his outfit is changed to something he'd actually want to wear in the future (it's a buisness woman outfit, like a suit with a little skirt n everything yk :3c)
And then in a transmasc AU where Ocean hasn't transitioned yet, Karnak says "The Most Successful Boy in Town" and Ocean is, again, left panicking really hard (eyebrow raises from everyone), and then goes on her rant even quicker than in the other aus, and she's put in like, a really classic business suit, and ends up with her hair shorter by the end of her song :3 There's two ways that he ends up with shorter hair in this AU, either a wig, OR, the shrapnel really choppily cut her hair like half-way off, and Karnak just reveals that, so he just cuts his hair the rest of the way so it's not messy anymore.
I know that the titles is supposed to be how they were VIEWED, and not what they wanted to be, so it'd still be the pre-transition gender in these aus, but Karnak also seems like the type to break his rule just once if it means making someone severely uncomfortable/embarrassed (reminder of what he did to Connie w/ that whole virginity thing), so he outs Ocean just because he can.
It's for the character arc!

For my swap RTC au, Ocean swaps with Noel, she's openly bi, but isn't openly trans, so she still goes by Forest and stuff, and is bullied for being gay cus small conservative town that doesn't care if you also like the opposite gender you're still just gay in their eyes. Forest eventually cuts his hair short at around sixteen (if he doesn't transition), so he has short hair (which he hates), and is very flamboyant w/ mostly Noel's personality!
And then Misha takes Ocean's place, so he's transitioned already, but is a lot more stuck-up about NOT being bi, and he is totally stuck up and stuff :3c Basically what Ocean is doing, trying to get attention from the two that adopted him via being perfect ^^
