What if Penny Lamb was a Jane Doe because she came back?
I don’t know if this theory has been done before but I want to share my thoughts.
The entire musical screams its main themes at us from the very first song.
“The sun is rising while descending,
It goes around and round and never ends.”
Life is cyclical, an endless paradox of time. To be alive is to Ride The Cyclone, hence why the young school choir are hurtled at the apex of the loop, at the prime of their lives.
A lot of people like to debate on how Jane Doe could’ve survived the disaster. However, this is a bigger mystery, how exactly did she lose her head? How was her head never found? How did she join the choir if no one knew her? Why did her parents come? Why do none of the other choir members even mention the fact that there were six of them?
Simple. It didn’t happen.
Karnak said the winner will go on to live past the cyclone accident. However, the only way for Penny to survive would be to never go on the ride at all. So, in her place, a ‘Jane Doe’ died in her place and Penny lives on with no injuries.
Penny Lamb is a Jane Doe because she was brought back. However, the reason Ocean brings her back, is because she was a Jane Doe.
It is cyclical, an endless paradox of time. Which came first? Ask the chicken and the egg.
I rest my case.

Ride the Cyclone really hit it with the opening line of “I know this dream of life is never ending”
Karnak Mander-Azur is a philosopher, warrior-priest & magister of the Inhumans' royal family; he's the only Inhuman to reject Terrigenesis, but mystic training in the Tower of Wisdom gave him the ability to perceive the flaws in all things, physical or metaphysical (paired w/ fearsome martial arts prowess, it's earned him a nickname, "The Shatterer"); he's known for a blunt & abrasive attitude, but is faithful in aiding his fellow Inhumans & their allies (+ at times, heroes like the Secret Warriors)!
