Hold my hand; Let’s run, let’s go

Outside to a place that only we know.

Dancing without music, alone in the dark

With only the stars as they shimmer and spark.

Lying in the grass, gazing up into the sky

Sleepy, serenely, we smile and sigh.

As the world keeps on spinning and changing each day,

Don’t you ever wonder why the stars stay?

Sometimes they’re hidden behind clouds they’re cast;

But they’re still twinkling and glowing, each night like the last.

I think that’s the way love ought to remain;

Enduring and faithful, unselfish, without gain.

Learning the truth that we’ve known all along;

Nothing in life forever goes wrong.

The sound of our voices, both timid and shy

It can be hard to say goodbye.

‘Cause when I look into your eyes

to my old home,

for years you held me in your walls

protecting me from the world,

but suddenly your walls turned sour.

soon the memories started to haunt me,

clawing at my mind,

the walls suffocated me

and I no longer wanted to stay.
