Pre-menstrual depression is always depicted as like "He He! I had a box of icecream bars and cried while watching the Titanic!" But in reality, it's more like, "I'm standing the edge of an abyss. There is nothing good inside of me, I'm filled with rage and desperation."
It's crazy that being told how to deal with that is never a part of anyone's menstrual sex education.

I went to my doctor after I was walking to work one morning and saw a bus coming and actually took a step to throw myself in front of it before I pulled myself together. Later that day I started bleeding and was literally like someone flipped a switch and I didn't feel suicidal anymore. Which made me feel like I was loosing my mind because who goes from 'I want to throw myself in front of a bus' to 'I'm perfectly fine' just like that? I did some research, I went to the doctor and described my feelings, he looked me in the eye and gently asked what I thought it was, I said I'd read about PMDD and I thought it might be that, he said 'I think so too' and wrote a prescription.
If, before you get your period, you feel furiously angry, suicidal, irritated by every tiny thing to the point you want to murder someone, stuck in a black hole you'll never escape from. If you are experiencing extreme emotions for what seems like no good reason, especially if you get your period and those extreme emotions just go away. You're probably not just PMSing , you may have PMS's feral big sister PMDD and it's treatable.
Also this is something that can develop as you get older. So if you used to get normal PMS but what I wrote above sounds more like your norm now then don't just write it off as regular PMS.
ALSO! If you start having those feelings and suspect youâre heading towards perimenopause, talk to your doctor.
Basically, if you have a uterus and you start having extreme mood swings every month, thatâs not actually normal, go talk to a medical professional. Donât grit your teeth and suffer through it.

The other vampyr was still at a safe distance, not joining in the fight but jumping and clapping their hands like a schoolgirl as she watched.
"Rip off its wings, my love, then the pretty bird can't fly away and will have to play with us", she called out.
"There's creepy and then there's whatever the fuck you have going on", Alana snarked as they dodged another swipe, and fired a bolt of magic at the first vamp, knocking him into the side wall of the alley.
Alana fought with magic and blades, but, if Harker was right, then those were not the weapons they needed right now. In a single flowing movement, Alana sheathed their mageknife, pulled out their makeshift wooden chair-leg stake, and leapt over to where the blond vamp was getting to his feet, dusting off his long black coat.
"You brought a chair leg to a vampyr fight? I'm gonna rip your throat out, Crow".
"Oh this? This is Mr Pointy, you two are gonna get acquainted real soon".
Alana lunged, as did the vamp, and just as his fangs almost made contact with Alana's neck, they plunged the stake into his heart. Between the second and third ribs, closer to the centre but avoiding the sternum; Viago's training rang in Alana's mind.
