14 mile trail run to South Lake done! The run/hike took about 3 hours due to challenging terrain, high altitude and about 3000' of total elevation gain. The trails were well-marked thank God. After running three 10k legs in less than 12 hours at a Ragnar relay in Cape Cod last month, doing just one at the Queens 10k was easy peas! I PRed in the race with a time of 40:03 (6:27/mi)! Results aside, running with Team For Kids added more meaning to my miles and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to run my first charity race with them. Long run commute to work this morning! Did 11ish miles in 96 minutes with a light backpack and finished up at a nearby gym to roll out and clean up afterwards. And I still made it in on time haha. This was me after finishing my 26.32 miles for the Ragnar Road Relay in Cape Cod! Took about 3:15 to do all four legs! The 200 mile course started in Hull and ended in Provincetown MA and had plenty of hills and nice views of the Atlantic. This race was quite the challenge because my last three legs (about 6 miles each, at 1am, 4am and 10am) were pretty much right on top of each other which gave me no time to rest or even eat! I did learn from my previous Ragnar experience and made sure to stay hydrated, warm and loose at all times, but I also took a fall during a night run like last time as well! (I was fine! just a bit dirty and roughed up) Overall it was a really nice trip I tried some clam chowder and lobster and got a ton of support from my team @ridgerunnersnyc! Kicking off Spring with some indoor track events at the Mile Mania Championships, which were much fun and a nice contrast to the long distance of the NYC Half. My times were 5:34 for the mile, 2:34 for 800 meters and 12:22 for 2 miles, and at the end I received 5th place overall in my age group! After my last race of 2017, I set out to claim a new half marathon PR... and maybe break the 1:30 mark too. Well, at the NYC Half yesterday (my 2nd half attempt this year) I did both! Official time was 1:29:35, 6:50 pace, which I'm very happy with! And I enjoyed the course too, the views from atop the Manhattan Bridge and along the FDR Drive were pretty awesome; if I wasnt tryna PR would've took lots of pictures haha!
