Ever wished for some really Australian looking trees for the Sims 2? Me too.
I have finally overcome my fear of trees, with much support from amazing friends like @tvickiesims, and would like to share some gifts with you all.
Read on below
Firstly, a while ago, @jacky93sims fulfilled a request to convert some Yeronga Trees. I've taken those, recoloured them a little (cos they were a bit too "green" lol) and made hood deco versions too.

These are super pretty, I quite love them.
Next, I found a free model online for a Ghost Gum tree and went "ohhhh, pretty!!!!" and made that into a hood & lot tree.

Then, I got my fingers into the amazing, wonderful work of Tvickiesims, and I messed around with a buuuuuuunch of trees, mostly just re-sizing and retexturing things. I would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Vickie for ALL of her amazing trees and her support during my project.

I messed around with a conversion from Adventure Awaits that kind of looked like a bottlebrush tree and made it look a bit more like a bottle brush tree, this one is for lots only:

I messed around with Vickie's 4t2 Batuu tree conversion and made it into another gum tree:
Aaaaand I messed with a "rainbow gum" conversion of hers too and retextured and re-sized it - 2nd on the right:
I also took a tree she'd done called the Salix tree and made a slightly larger hood deco version cos I thought it looked a bit like a peppercorn tree, which is technically a South American tree but these are alll over NSW:
I, erm, may have gotten a little carried away.
The fun thing about Australian gums is that there's
a) a million different varieties, and
b) they're all super unique, so I felt like I needed many different tree models😂

Just in case you've never really seen a great big old Australian Gum Tree before 😊 They can be quite huge and rather spectacular!
All trees are "seasonal" as in they have snowy states and should not flash blue in any season (hopefully), and some have flowering states in select seasons. However, Eucalyptus / Gum trees are evergreen so don't change colour or lose their leaves in autumn and tend to stay about the same year-round, so the season variability is fairly low 😊

Some strands were yeeted because barely noticeable, I don't think miniscule bitty pieces are worth an additional 2k poly :3 As you can see in the picture, recolors may look a tiny bit different on the sides due to one of these strands being yeeted. New alpha included for recolorists.

Finally, after months, I have finished these. A long time ago now, I'd made my original templates but didn't really pay any mind to how gendered faces really are, and how inconsistent they are between each age. I love the Maxis faces, I just wanted them to look a little less lumpy, and to replace ones that I felt were redundant. Basically, I hated that with any given template, I couldn't really tell what a sim was going to look like as an adult because every face looked different at each stage!
So today I bring to you my less gendered Maxis Match templates, where I have chosen which face I felt was more iconic and matched the other gender with it, and then made every age look more like that template (including baby faces).
Martin Ruben can be a good example:
Yeah, sure, the eyes are the same, but that's pretty much where the likeness ends. A lot of the templates will do this, and some of the female faces suffered for it (jaws were outlawed on females in 2004, didn't you know?)
They aren't perfect but they're miles better than the originals! I also think they bring a lot more variety to faces, because I did notice that a lot of the templates would use face parts from entirely different templates! Face 2's eyes and face 1's nose are really popular, as well as yeeting jaws and chins out the window.

If you noticed in some of the pictures, the ears clipped through a few hairs, and that's because I also took the liberty of adding custom ear shapes to almost every face. No, it didn't occur to me to change the hairstyle I picked for photos until I was already on face 18 and didn't want to start over.
These aren't perfect, and maybe someday I'll go over them again to change more minute details, but for now, I'm very happy with how they turned out!
Please let me know if there are any issues, I triple checked everything but I probably missed something somewhere.

After much hair-pulling, I finally feel satisfied enough to release my mod to restore those glorious shiny floors from The Sims 2 beta! (Forever in our hearts...)

Why yes, I did painstakingly try to recreate the room from the prerelease image and make elder versions of the Sims - it was absolutely a productive use of my time.
I've made sure to make a number of vanilla TS2 floors reflective out of the box. These are mostly marble floors, but there's a few stone/tile/wood floors in there too. If you want to add reflections to custom floors (or other vanilla floors not included by default), I've left some basic instructions on the GitHub page on how to do this :)
Because this is a cut beta feature, there are a few minor issues with it - I have detailed these in the README. Please take the time to read through them!
I also had to include an edit to the mirror reflection shader to fix a bug where mirrors visible in the floor reflections would be flashing red (Castaway Stories has the same issue with mirrors reflected in the ocean, funnily enough). I'm not aware of any other mods that touch the mirror shaders, but if there are, let me know and I'll whip up a compatibility patch.
Oh, and in case you missed it, I released a small update to the reflective water mod, as per the request of @lordcrumps. I didn't realise houses didn't reflect in the hood water, but now they do!
I have released a handful of updates for the reflective floors recently that fix several issues people reported to me:
Fixed the white Build/Buy grid being applied to the terrain instead of the usual black one.
Fixed the thumbnails of reflective floors breaking if they were regenerated.
Added a version of the shaders that incorporate the changes from Build/Buy Grid Follows Cursor for compatibility (this is also an abandoned beta feature btw). If you previously downloaded this version, please redownload it from the latest update because my text editor decided to pull a funny prank and insert an invalid character into one of the floor material definitions, which caused it to flash pink.

Any detailists out there? Dunno if anyone besides me is gonna want this, but I needed it for my game. Since there’s so many sliders now and I’m very particular about my sims’ eyeshape, sometimes I end up deforming the pupil. So I made 8 sliders, 4 for each eye that move exactly one vertex horizontaly or verticaly. That’s right, I made 8 sliders and 16 preview images just so I could move part of my sims’ eyeball one milimeter to the left. Wtf is wrong with me.

I was digging in the Base Game files of The Sims 2 and found a square variant of the round Recalling Rugs. The rugOriental3x3 has a unique 3x3 square mesh that matches well with them. I have connected all the resources that I could and made it usable! I have made sure the rug only has 1 OBJD with the footprint extended, it's also priced at $1,100. This was made with HugeLunatic's Rug Fixes in mind, so without their download the rug will be dark indoors.
Also, if you'd like the CC star removed you can put the -ProgramFiles package in your Catalog folder, an example file path would be something like this: Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\Catalog\. The other file can go in your Downloads folder as usual
If you don't want to add another rug to clutter up your catalog, I have made recolors of the Isotopia Rug (FreeTime EP) as a repository option with the found textures as well. If you have any issues let me know!

This bi-monthly theme at GoS gave me some inspiraton, so here's a mod to celebrate GoS returning. :)
This mod gives university students a chance of bringing college project instead of standard written homework, using TS4 Discover University meshes and textures.
Project will look differently for each major. Undeclared Sims and custom majors get randomly one of 11 projects.
Chance of bringing a college project is by default 20%.
College projects take longer to finish, but are more rewarding, letting your Sims gain some skills and hobby enthusiasm. There's 50/50 chance of gaining either logic skill or charisma skill, because those are the skills that made sense to me in the college project context.
As for enthusiasm:
Art project makes your Sims gain Art and Craft enthusiasm,
Biology project makes your Sims gain Nature enthusiasm,
Drama, History, Philosophy and Literature projects make your Sims gain Film and Literature enthusiasm,
Economics, Maths/IT, Physics and Psychology projects make your Sims gain Science enthusiasm,
Political Science project makes your Sims gain Games enthusiasm.
I know some of subjects might not be the best match for certain hobbies, but I didn't want to turn everything into Science and there's history of everything, so this major could fit into many hobbies, like art, music etc.
Sims have a chance of making college project of one of three qualities: low, mid and high. The outcome depends on Sim's grade and getting help with the project (but it only counts if it happens during quality check).
If you use Smonaff's Fall Asleep While Doing Homework, Sims who have fallen asleep while working on their project can't make projects of high quality.
This mod conflicts with some mods:
if you are using simler90's Homework Assignment Mod (Full Version - it doesn't conflict with Placement Version), choose plug-in "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_AssignmentFull" and make it load after both my mod and simler90's mod,
if you are using smonaff's Fall Asleep While Doing Homework, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_Smonaff_UniversityProjectFallAsleep" and make it load after both my mod and smonaff's mod,
if you are using @episims' Pencils by Color Traits, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_ColorPencil" - Epi's mod doesn't conflict with mine, but you need this plug-in to get colorful pencils,
if you are using Dave_Luv's Faster Homework, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_FasterHomework" and make it load after both my mod and Dave_Luv's mod.
DO NOT use my plug-in for simler90's Homework Assignment Mod (Full version) and my plug-in for Dave_Luv's Faster Homework - these mods are incompatible.
There's an issue when a project board is facing wall - the project won't turn around and your Sim will be doing their project even though they are facing the board's back. Right now I don't have a good solution for that. The best I can offer you is that you can cancel the action and turn the board around in the Buy mode. :/
This isn't like an official download post as not all of it is mine (but there will be downloads :D) but more like a list of light map and shader mods I personally use for my game to make it look just how I wanted it and I no longer use my old Shader Fixes due to the amount of new shader mods that has come in.
This will be long so under the cut it goes.
1. Lighting Mod: Cozy Home Lighting Mod + Night Light Map Fixes
Goes without saying, I use my own lighting mod. Most of the other shaders won't look right without some kind of lighting mod.
I use Cozy Home, which is the newest mod I did. It's better to read it from the README because this is too long to put here.
The lighting mod also contains fixes to the Light Maps for both lot and neighborhood so they're less blue. Otherwise night lighting will not look right.

2. Neighborhood Shaders and Light Maps: @spockthewok's Reflective Water + @simnopke's Accurate Neighborhood Terrain Lighting + @criquette-was-here's Neighborhood Road Transparency Fix
What Will has been putting up, from the purple soup research to the object limit findings, and now the reflective water shader has been incredible. He's managed to do it much more beautifully than I have (as I can't really do much more than color scalar changes and combining mods together on the shader end of things). I prefer this over Voeille's water mod because the ocean does not go black with reflections off.
Make sure to get the version labeled dreadpirate as that one has @criquette-was-here's Better Nightlife mod integrated already.
The next part of this roundup is the Accurate Neighborhood Terrain Lighting, which fixes the shadow weirdness in the impostor (if you use the version with Criquette's Neighborhood Lighting Remedy integrated, which I recommend if you use any of my lighting mods). I personally use the strong-lightingRemedy version.
Finally, there's the Neighborhood Road Transparency Fix, which fixes the transparent areas on the sides of neighbourhood road, so the objects and decals below becomes visible and ‘cut-off’ effect disappears.

3. Lot Skirt Shader: @christaskyy's Improved Lot Skirt Shader
This new shader improves on the lot skirt rendering to be closer to the neighborhood view along the surrounding area after the lot boundary. This also means, with the right lighting mod configuration (ahem!), the roads match better. Not perfect, but better than before.
The lot skirt mod was made using my original shader fixes so this already contains @simnopke's Sky Fix and @criquette-was-here's Winter Road Fix.
The original link leads to Boosty, which causes issues for a lot of people so I am instead linking to their alternate link to the download. Make sure this shader loads after the Extended StandardMaterial Shader that will be linked later on.

4. Terrain Tile/Pond/Pool Shader: Aquamarine Pond Water + No Blue Snow
Now, this one is my work. I based this shader on Moi's Water Mod, but adjusted the colors (especially with reflection off) to be similar to Targa's old water mod. I wanted the colour to be something that isn't solid black without a swimming pool.
This contains both the terrain tile shaders and the pool shaders, which I took inspiration from the old Gunmod shader for but updated for Seasons. The shader also contains the night snow fixes as well, so the snow will not be blue at night.
Note that this is incompatible with water mods like Voeille's water mods or mods like @lazyduchess's Lot Lighting Fixes. I can't get Lot Lighting Fixes to personally work right and the snow issues personally don't bother me as I don't really play a lot of winter seasons.

5. Roof Shader: Slightly Brighter Roofs + No Blue Snow
I find many roof shaders too bright so what I did for this was just remove the bluish cast on the material shader part and made it just a touch brighter than Maxis, so you can still use roofs that aren't made with brighter roof mods in mind.
This again has the no blue snow fix integrated.

6. Standard Shader: @crispsandkerosene's Extended StandardMaterial Shader

C&K has already written up a list of what this shader does. I personally use the version with @lazyduchess's Bright CAS Fix. For the lot shader portion, make sure Christa's lot skirt shader loads after this, or delete the lot skirt shader portion in Crisps' file using SimPE.

7. Sim Standard Shader: My Edit of @crispsandkerosene's Extended SimStandardMaterial Shader
Just an edit I did of @crispsandkerosene’s SimStandardMaterial shader because I liked a setting somewhere in between the vanilla maxis setting for the scale lighting and the one in the Brighter SIms version.
You can read C&K's post for more information about the shader.
Nopke's mod allows the shadows to even show up as shadows, while LD's soften them so that the outlines are not too harsh. I use dark for Nopke's mode, and No Overlap 100 on LD's.
I do a lot of mini tweaks/fixes of CC for my own use, and sometimes I think they are possibly useful to someone else. Like today, when I fixed a couple of things on Veranka's lovely rack from her deliciously indulgent bakery set.
The slots are not quite aligned with the shelves, and as you may have heard, I cannot with floating. Unless it comes with a wizard practicing a levitating spell 24/7, it's not allowed 😁
The slots are also duplicated for each tile, so that objects want to go on them twice, which I find a little exhausting in using the object. I have tweaked the shelves a tiny bit to align with purple omsp heights, set the slot height to be correct for the mesh, and I split the slots so that those that are on the right are on that tile, and slots that are on the left are on that tile. No more duplicating, huzzah.

It has recolors so definitely go grab those from the original upload if you did not have it already, not to mention all of the other cute items of the set :) Remember to remove the original rack file if you already had it. Note that slot adjustments cannot take effect until the item is removed from lot and then rebought, so if you had existing placements you want to update, you have to delete it first and buy a new one. Annoying, but such is CRES life unfortunately :3

A few days ago @dystopianam put a photo on our the sims group with a poster of Will Wright attached on a dartboard with a dart in the center of the head and it makes me laugh so much that I decide to create a dartboard where everyone can choose which enemy to target.
For Sims who hate their God we have Will Wright (creator of the game). For the betrayed lovers there is Don and so on.
The board has its own guid so it will not replace the game board, BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE THE WILL WRIGHT ONE IN YOUR GAME in order for the others to work.
Feel free to ask me which character would you like to have and I will create other recolors for you :)
Remember this? It's one of the first custom objects I made but I've updated it!!
The dartboard now uses the same recolors as the original in-game dartboard, so any custom recolors you already have will work with this version too.
Will Wright's picture is still included (of course) but all the other preset photos are gone because now you get to choose your own target!
It works just like the customizable picture frames: you can use an in-game snapshot or select any image from your Paintings folder. Will it be your sim's rival, an annoying neighbor, ex-lover or mortal enemy? The choice is yours. 🎯
