Firstly, I think I figured out why foods would sometimes randomly go "off" and get spoiled while in the display cases when you load into a lot, even though they weren't supposed to! So I've updated the TA_CafeMod_Main file with some important updates there. Make sure you download the latest version and replace that file!
Secondly, I have some new compatibility patches for you all, mostly around this BHAV:
Interaction - Eat - Grab a Plate (0x201C)
Turns out there are great many mods that edit this BHAV π Including but not limited to:
Simler90's Food Serve Eat Mod
Cyjon's Smarter Food Serving Mod
MidgeTheTree's Cake Stand
PlatinumAspirations 4t2 Cake Stand as part of their Businesses & Hobbies conversions (well, it was supposed to be editing that BHAV but it wasn't lol, never mind...)
So, in this confusing world, I have some important comp patches:
If you want to use either Midge's Cake Stand, PlatinumAspiration's Cake Stand, OR both, please make sure you have the file called Z_TA_CompPatch_CafeMod_CakeStands
You'll also want to have my TA_CafeMod_Main file loading AFTER the original cake stand files. This is important for that "Interaction - Eat - Grab a Plate" BHAV.
I know that load order can be really confusing, so make sure that you check with HCDU+ which mods are loading in which order!
It should be
1. Midge's Cake Stand and/or PlatAsp's Cake Stand
2. TA_CafeMod_Main
3. TA_CompPatch_CafeMod_CakeStands
Then
4. Z_Z_TA_CafeModMain_CJSmarterFoodServings if you want Simler90's / Cyjon's fixes to Interaction - Eat - Grab a Plate (I recommend!)

hiya! do you have any optimization tips for Linux? I recently swapped from windows and although the game seems to run smoother Iβm encountering crazy long load times! weβre talking 30 mins for 15gb of cc which on windows took only like 5 minsβ¦ any tips or advice?
Hey Anon, that's a rare one, most people report Linux loads faster!
I guess the main thing is, what are you running Linux on? Is it an internal SSD? An external SSD? Something else?
Load times depend mostly on RAM, and SSD speed. If it's an external device and the port it's plugged into is a slow port, load times will be slow.
Hi, Tea! I got the latest updates to the cafe mod, and wanting to try out some of those mods you made compatible with it, I found that your comp patches for midge's cake stand and cj's smarter foods are conflicting with each other, but the reason is those 2 mods also conflicting with each other. It doesn't look like midge ever addressed or was even told about that conflict either, but the odd thing is that I also got a 4t2 cake stand by platasp (this one: platinumaspiration tumblr com/post/781815812451385344), that she wrote it was cloned from midge's, but hers doesn't conflict with anything! Anyway, I simply decided to keep cj's mod and delete midge's (and plat-asp's, just in case) because I think I'll make more use of it, but I thought I should still let you know about this. And thank you very much for the mod, and for making so many cool add-ons for it. Not only I found some cool new mods thanks to you, but I'm glad I can also use them with your amazing cafe overhaul! ^-^

So, Midge's cake stand does indeed edit the same BHAV. I have looked into things, and it turns out that if you're playing with cafe mod, and using the Smarter Food Servings comp patch, you can just ignore the conflicts and have my comp patch load LAST after everything.
Sorry, it was hard to get a screenshot XD but the sim in the red shirt paid $10 simoleons for the dessert she picked up from the cake stand :)
That said, I've realised that in my original comp patch for Midge's cake stand I did a silly thing that meant the sims would be charged twice for eating a dessert from a cake stand, so I updated that original compatibility patch π
TLDR: for the conflict with the BHAV called "Eat - Grab a Plate", just use the comp patch file called "Z_CompPatch_TACafeModMain_CJSmarterFoodServings.package" and have it load last, and ignore all reported conflicts π
If you have Midge's cake stand, you'll still want my filed called "CompPatch_MidgeCakeStand" because that stops the desserts from getting spoiled, and we like that!

Does the patch to make cafe mod work with the food serve eat mod also works with Smarter Food Serving by Cyjon? so long story short I didn't know or didn't remember that mod by simler90 until I saw your update, and I wanted to get it. But then in the comments for simler90's mod, someone said it conflicts with cyjon's smarter food serving, and that cyjon's "appears to have a lot more features". I wouldn't care otherwise, but someone else wrote that it also conflicts with cyjon's smarter chair selection, and that mod I already had and it's very useful, cause cyjon fixed seating selection for many different activities, not just eating food. So I'd rather not get simler90's mod, cause then I'd have to get rid of cyjon's chair mod, but at the same time, cyjon's smarter food mod sounds very useful too! :/ So if the new patch won't work with cyjon's smarter food serving, would you consider including it, please? I used hcdu and it said the only conflict between your mod and theirs is for the bhav for grabbing a plate to eat the food

Looked into it, Cyjon's "Smarter Food Servings" mod edits the same BHAV and also does the same thing Simler90's mod does.
All that to say, I've made you a new comp patch integrating all changes, now in the "comp patches" folder of the main archive.
Load the comp patch after Cyjon's mod and the TA_CafeMod_Main file!

I really love your cafe mod, I was trying to update Lord Crumps's 4t2 pizza oven pizzas for the cafe mod, but I cannot seem to get them working so sims pay for them :( I don't think they're normal recipes from the fridge so I guess that might be the issue? Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply, you ended up leading me down a huge rabbithole today with this one ππ
So! Basically, these pizzas were different, special snowflakes that needed a major update and overhaul. I fixed many, many things inside these files, improved the animations, disabled "auto grab a slice", stopped sims from autonomously throwing a perfectly good pizza in the bin... oh yes, such fun.
So I went a bit beyond what I was initially going to do (figure out how to update them and let you know) and just updated them all for you, reached out to @lordcrumps and let him know that I'd fixed a tonne of things, and he went ahead and updated his download for the pizza oven with my changes.

I couldn't see any conflict between Simler90's Dining Group Mod, but I did see one between their Food Serve Eat Mod and Cafe mod.
I have done an update to Cafe Mod to resolve this conflict, load my mod after Simler90's :)
Hi Tea! I know I have seen this asked before but I continue to have problems with using visit other sims, puppies and kittens and bb enabler. I also want so bad to use vehicle maintenance but I fear adding in yet another travel mod will just cause more chaos. All of these mods can indeed work together in perfect harmony.
If you want to use Vehicles Maintenance, that's actually really simple. Just download the latest Vehicles Maintenance files and have all of that load after Puppies & Kittens and the BB enabler. It includes visitSims as an optional addon and everything in there is compatible.
If you're wanting to hold off on adding Vehicles Maintenance, that's fine too! Have your mods in this load order:
1. Puppies, Toddlers n Kittens
2. BB enabler
3. VisitSims.
Inside "VisitSims" in SimPE, you need to follow my instructions in this post to make it compatible with BB enabler.
To make it compatible with puppies, toddlers n kittens just make sure you're using a compatible version like one here provided by the wonderful @jellymeduza π

Hi Tea! Did I install your Go Out with Cars mod correctly? I downloaded the burglars & alarms patch and had it load after Blueybre's mod and your original Go Out with Cars mod, but the option for an *enhanced car alarm* is gone. There should be an option for a *thief master alarm* for 2,000 simelons. I tried it with only the patch and Blueybre's mod install, but it still doesn't work. It just asks me to choose a destination instead when I click Get Alarm Installed. Am I missing something? :(

Your load order sounds like it'd be the issue here I think. Can I ask if you're using Vehicles Maintenance, or any other car mods too?
If you're only wanting "Go Out With Cars" and BlueyBre's mod, it must load in the following order:
1. Blueybre's mod
2. Z_Z_TA_Cars_GoOut_ONLYburglarsandalarms
If you're using Vehicles Maintenance, it must load like so:
1. BlueyBre's mod
2. Z_VehicleMaintenance_Z_Addon_DrivingOptions_A_GoOut
3. Z_Z_VehicleMaintenance_CompPatch_TA_BurglarsAndAlarms
Load order for these mods is SO confusing a tricky ππ I'm more than happy to help out further, just let me know what mods exactly you're wanting to have work together π

I don't know if I can like, send you anything? To help figure out why that would be? I do have a conflict between your shaders and Will Nixon's shaders but only for the hood water shader (his is loading last).
Hoping some improvements can be made here...
(also yes I just copy-pasted the extra lines I needed for my multi-road mod, which is why I have successfully got a mixture of "normal" roads and dirt roads, yay!)

hi tea, i use go out with cars and now i've also added lamare's newest restaurant mod and it requires another mod that allows puppies and toddlers to visit public lots/ i remember in your go out with cars post there's a note that says the mod is compatible with toddlers and puppies at community lots no matter the version, but since adding lamare and dhurt's mods the option to go out with a car has disappeared. is this because of lamare's mod?
Hey! Id say that's a load order issue, make sure Dhurt's mod is loading before any of the vehicle maintenance stuff and it should work π

I have a problem with Clean Installer on Linux. I've downloaded the program and put it into Program Files (86x) just like it's recommended in one of your posts and I also have downloaded the script that is supposed to run the Installer. Sadly whenever I click on it to run, nothing happens and when I opened it in the console to inspect what's up it says "line 67: zenity: command not found" and as I have no technical knowledge about this kind of stuff, I don't know what the problem is but apparently something is missing. And it doesn't really matter where in the system I put either the script or the Installer folder.
I use Debian 13 if that's important.Β Here's the screenshot of the console log. Maybe you'll be able to help me, I don't have discord tho. If it's not resolvable I'm fine with sticking to installing lots through Windows.

From the looks of that, you might need to install Zentity, which you should be able to do through the console! For Debian I reckon it'd be as simple as " sudo apt install zentity " in the console and then see if it works?
Hi! I'm just starting to experiment with your Cafe Mod 2.0, and presume I need to update various cc foods. I had one of Jacky's defaults, which I've done. For foods like Exnem's catalog meals or dessert cart, which have a main file and one or more 'piece' files which are the individual portions...I think I should update the portions? Or the main file as well?

Basically you want to add it as a locally installed game running within the same wine prefix as Sims 2 - most likely called "the-sims-2". Here's a very easy method to setting up any Sim-tilities in Lutris once you have Sims 2 working:
1. Right-click / duplicate Sims 2 in Lutris
2. Give the duplicate whatever name you want it to have (e.g. "What Caused This"
3. Right-click / configure the new "game"
4. Go to Game Options, Executable Path, and change that path to point towards What Caused This (or whatever .exe you want to run)
5. Make sure your wine prefix has dotnet20 and dotnet40 installed. Program should then run.
Once it's running, you may have to manually configure the game paths in the settings within What Caused This, so make sure you go to file / configure and point it towards the right file paths to find your game & downloads folder.
Should work fine :)

And I had another question... How can I find out which CC object(s) in the game are taking up the most space in the object limit? (Without having to look at each folder with HCDU Plus 4.5?) No worries, I am always happy to share what I know about the game :)
As far as I know, there is no limit to the number of recolours an object can have. The only limit for me is my patience scrolling through the recolours window, lol.
In terms of which CC objects may be taking up the most space in the object limit, I'd recommend starting by looking into any "large footprint" objects, or objects that have a very large number of green squares / tiles when you manipulate them in game.
Classic offenders that can be improved are rugs, large rocks, large decorative objects, things like Mog's decorative parking space, Raynuss's decorative water tanks and stands... anything "large" like that may have a huge amount of OBJDs.
In terms of what has a lot of OBJD's but there's nothing you can do to reduce them, the biggest one is windows and doors. You'll want to just manage how many large sets of multi-tile windows and doors you have in game.

Can you share what global BHAVS would need to be changed for cold/flu sickness to spread to Toddlers, as well as a separate stand alone sickness for just Toddlers? I'm not sure if this is something even possible at all without breaking the game.
