i maintain that the funniest writing decision hussie ever made with homestuck was building an entire readership on the back of somethingawful, being deliberately hostile towards shipping culture through the text itself, introducing a subset of characters who are meant to embody caricatures of internet user archetypes based on posting style, proceeding to begin telling a very deliberately queer story in the back half of the comic, setting up actual whole-hearted relationship drama, baiting the somethingawful posters to begin going into denial about "oh well this is surely just setup to troll the shippers again right guys???", introducing a new character and presenting them as part of that same internet user caricature subset that embodies a type of user whose existence homestuck is very explicitly responsible for, and, on the age-old question of "what is the somethingawful poster troll", answering with the refrain of fucking caliborn

imagine. fucking imagine being a somethingawful poster reading homestuck and suddenly hussie turns around on you and pulls away the curtains to reveal a mirror declaring you as the villain of this story

I did. It’s a little known fact about me. I suppose my notoriety trumps my status as an officiate, or at least a lover of weddings and supporter of love— especially when that love involves me in some way. The ever tangling web of my connections continues strangling itself.
