She answered a Help Wanted flyer seeking “Clerical Work” with no experience required. She showed up at the Monastery thinking it meant an office job. After a few weeks of training with the monks, she is still sort of wondering when they are going to show her to her desk.

If you don't know, I started posting updates to the game I'm trying to make in a monthly newsletter on my patreon. Last month I talked a little about the main character, Carmina. This month I talked about the development of Marisol, a bounty hunter that is doggedly pursuing the you in Chapter 1. In the post, I share sketches by HONE, talk about character design choices and share sketches of music including the full version of the track in this video, her battle theme. You may recognize parts of it from an old track I wrote a long time ago. It was always for this, but now that I'm not stuck working on other things I am taking a chance on trying to work on my own thing.

I will probably rework the patreon a bit in the coming months, though for now I added a SUPPORT TIER, that doesn't force you to join my discord server. And for only three bucks! Which is basically two bucks! Which might as well only be a dollar. On the server I've posted a lot of WIPs and dev art over the years as I slowly try and build something of my own.

If you've been following me for a while, you've seen this character before. I've enlisted HONE to work with me doing primary art and character design. Carmina is a self described "Highly Specialized Purveyor of Valuables." Chapter 1 will focus on her robbing a train while eluding a bounty hunter.

The setting is basically a western with mild fantasy elements. I've been worldbuilding and developing it for a long time in the background, but since I've been stuck in bed for medical reasons its been easier to find time to work on things for myself. Instead of doing it in one big piece, I figured I'd focus on smaller chunks and just introduce each character and their backstory and how they interweave with each other one at a time.

I've been considering setting up my patreon more to help fund this, and give updates. I've posted about it almost exclusively on my patreons discord server, but its always been sort of a background project. I briefly thought about maybe doing a (yikes) kickstarter or something but god knows I have a traumatic history with those.
