“I prefer to train in harsh conditions,” Ginny shrugged. “You may not have the luxury to have a break when you’re fighting for your life.”

“But we’re not fighting for our lives here, are we?” she said simply. After having dealt with Noah for so long, people with fiery tempers didn’t scare her off as easily as they would’ve once before. “So I’m going to take a break. You can have fun suffering from dehydration on your own then.”

“Come on, pick up the sword. The fight is not finished yet,” Ginny exclaimed, hlding her own dagger tightly. 

“I don’t mind going another round, but we should really take a break,” Raine replied, moving to reach for her water bottle. “It’s getting hotter out, we need to hydrate.”

“Good,” Sawyer replied, putting the tub in between them. “I hope you like mint chocolate chip.”

“Are you kidding?” she raised a brow as she picked up the spoon to dig into the tub. “It’s one of the best flavors to ever exist.”

“I could kiss you right now, how did you do that?!”

“I’m not scared!” Sophia said, pouting at her sister. ( @rainefletcher​ )

“You sure about that?” she urged her a little more. “I’d like to see you prove it.”

“You’re always a little bit clumsy, Raine,” Noah said, moving to pick up the weapons quickly but carefully, “You’re alright, no harm done. Thank gods,” He shrugged, “I’m fine. Emma’s back so probably a little more tolerable than usual some might say.”

“Yeah it’s raining– but it’s not so bad,” Raine told her sister with a smile. “Have you never had fun out in the rain before? We could go ham with the rainbows in this place if we wanted to right now.”

“Oh Gods– Noah I’m sorry,” Raine exclaimed after accidentally knocking a few weapons off the wall in the weaponry. “I’m awfully clumsy today for some reason,” she admitted, taking a few steps forward and away from the wall. “How are you feeling?”

“I’ve got a tub of ice cream and two spoons, you in?”

“That does sound like a good time,” Raine gave in with a sigh. “Alright, count me in!”

“If you’re here to tell me that I said something stupid the other night, just pretend it never happen or don’t mention it,” Emilia said to the other when they approached. She was sitting at the beach, feet in the sand, letting the tide run to them.

“Actually I was coming to check on you and ask if you were feeling okay,” Raine admitted as she took a seat beside the other. “So... are you feeling okay?”

“And don’t even ask me where I got the sign from. Just know, it’s false. Whatever you said, you’re false.” 

“Alright well then– I’m the worst sister there ever was,” she grinned proudly, knowing that because of the rule he set up with that sign, she was confirming the opposite.

Michael looked at the girl who joined him and he nodded. “You’re right. No use watching. What’s that stupid saying my mom always said? A watched pot never boils?” He said with a shrug. “I’ll take that lunch and water. It sounds pretty good right about now.” 

“Well I’m glad you were relatively easy to convince, especially considering the fact that I don’t exactly take no for an answer,” Raine chuckled softly. “Alright let’s head over to grab something to eat. The monsters will still be waiting for you on the other side when you get back,” she added, giving him a little nudge of support.

“And the screaming is helping how?” Noah asked, “It’s actually making everything worse.”

“What is with all the yelling?” Noah asked, approaching the other, “Seriously, is there any need.”

Michael thought that monsters were a sign that things were about to start and he was ready for the word to be given. But for now, he had to play along. The moment Chiron told them about the monsters, Michael jumped up and called for  a group of campers to watch the border. Have a small group of people always on duty in case anything else happened, and he offered his name for the guard duty before anyone else. Being eager to help, acting concerned for the camp. 

When the moment came, Michael was dressed in armor, nothing but a leather chest plate and his spear. It was light and made him faster. He was standing next to Thalia’s tree as he looked down the hill. The dragon puffed hot air at him and Michael looked over. “Calm down Peleus. I don’t see anything. The fleece is safe.” He assured him, but what he didn’t know was that the dragon was telling him someone was approaching. So when he heard the crinkle of grass, the son of Zeus finally looked. “It’s all good.” He repeated. “Nothing’s coming.” 

Raine was outside sharpening one of her weapons when she saw someone up by Thalia’s tree. It seemed as though everyone was on edge due to the news and extra security measures were being put in place each day. Finishing up her work and putting her blade in a holster attached to her waist, she made her way up to see who was keeping watch.

“Good to know,” she replied with a curt nod. “Although they could very well be hiding before our very eyes and waiting until you’re not guarding the barrier before slinking out towards camp,” Raine suggested with a little smirk. “Need a break? You should drink water or have some lunch. No use fighting monsters on an empty stomach.”

evelyn laughed with raine, glad to see the daughter of iris. “you know i think we should have, give somewhere for us quote, unquote hopeless singles to get away from all this. at least it’s only a day.” she gave another glance around the camp, shaking her head. “it’s not like it’s that much better out of camp i guess, but at least it’s not so in your face. i knew i should have stayed in bed.”

“You mean take advantage of those who are inebriated, I’m sure that’s not the true iris spirit.” Darcy chuckled, shaking her head at the other before listening to her question. “I feel like people shouldn’t need to pay to get in touch with those who they love, though if I have to filter through another booty call I may reconsider my terms.”

“I’m pretty sure mom’s not too big on all the free passes you’ve been giving people either. She had to do all the overseeing, remember?” Raine reminded. “Perhaps there’s something to it but booty calls? People are doing those through Iris message? Big yikes.”
