I think a lot of transmisogyny stems from this idea that people are really scared to see a dick. The reason bathrooms and locker rooms and hot springs keep being flash points is because these are all places where if a trans woman is using them, it's possible you might see her dick. A lot of transmisogynistic humor revolves around being traumatized because the subject saw a woman with a penis. And look, to a certain extent I sympathize. I'm not a fan of dick; I dont want this thing either. But if you want to be an ally to trans women, I think a big important step you can take personally is to examine your own reaction to the scenarios I described above, and recognize that a dick is just a body part a girl has sometimes. Seeing it as inherently sexual and/or traumatizing is a major wedge conservatives use to justify their rhetoric

I disagree with that post that was like “tumblr was worse when the demographic was straighter” because I think tumblr’s demographic is still exactly as straight as it has always been, it’s just that now all the straight people are pretending to be gay and calling themselves he/they puppyboys and she/it transbian catgirls and that kinda shit. And I think tumblr’s demographic has actually gotten more homophobic than it used to be because the fake gays feel threatened by real homosexuals so they need to shut us up so they can keep pretending that they are gay. And like sure, people were doing some seriously corny “horny posting” back in the day, but like… have you seen the way trans people talk about sex? It’s worse now.

Every two seconds there's some teenage or preteen femae athlete at a court hearing with her voice shaking saying: Hey this boy took my spot on the team/my prize/ my sports scholarship and it's unfair and it felt bad, and without skipping a beat "progressives" are like "Shut up lil bitch you just suck. Sucks to suck, you little 14-year old c-nt". Without ever pausing to consider they may be the baddies. Incredible stuff.

You don't deserve a spot because you're part of a privileged majority. I'm going to be just as mean to a cis teenager complaining that a trans kid is better at sports then them as I would a white teenager complaining that a poc is better at sports then them.
