eva’s demeanour during her final scene in PHM makes me so sad because you genuinely notice how much she’s been the world’s whipping boy. there’s her tattoo, obviously, but there’s also the passive sadness in her eyes, as if it’s been a constant thing for almost three decades now. there’s the way her back is slightly hunched, her fingers shake when she puts down the figurine. her eyes are a lot more glazed over, as if she tends to disassociate herself from her experiences a lot more. not to mention when she laughs, it looks like it’s been such a long time that it physically hurts her to. she just genuinely has the air of having been punched down into a smaller version of herself and it breaks my heart. absolutely insane acting by sandra hüller though, it’s such a tiny nuance but… wow
