Magazines will print photos of “perfect” postpartum bodies, and shame other women for not bouncing back to what they looked like before pregnancy.
You know what, that is really fair.
But who purchases these magazines? Who reads these magazines? Who writes the articles about pregnancy in these magazines?
You really think men are the target audience when it comes to magazines about pregnancy and postpartum bodies? Really? You really think men write articles about pregnancy and postpartum bodies?
I mean, they don’t. I’m sure there’s at least one example of a man that does; but most men—if they even read magazines—aren’t going to pick up a pregnancy magazine.
Pretty obvious there.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a man complain about how his wife’s vagina is “loose like a lasagna” after having a baby.
While your personal experiences are a sad outlook into how you see the world; they aren’t indicative of a trend. Not to mention, there are many terrible people out there in marriages and relationships.
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen women steal sperm like it was proverbial gold just to force a man to have a child;
I can’t count how many times I’ve seen mothers be the greatest obstacle to fathers having more frequent contact with their children, even while the mothers complain that the father isn’t spending time with the children;
I can’t count the amount of times that a man has been domestically abused by his wife or girlfriend, yet the victim (The man) is taken to jail due to the faulty Duluth Model.
Yes, there are terrible people out there; Fathers, Mothers, Husbands, Wives.
However I’m a decent enough person to separate terrible people from their gender.
Women are made to be ashamed of their postpartum stretch marks and cellulite and soft stomachs because they don’t appeal to the male gaze.
You seem to have tunnel vision, maybe due to the fact you likely are a woman and thus you have no context about true male experiences. Because boys and men have the same shame put on them for having stretch marks and cellulite and soft stomachs; due to the fact that society (usually women) need them to be useful body shields and living weapons to die for them.
Meanwhile mothers are taking care of a new life, and are most likely under a lot of stress to begin with. Not to mention postpartum depression, which can ruin lives.
Yes, birth can be very stressful, that’s why choosing the right partner and the right time can be extremely important. A good partner will be there for their significant other.
Companies sell creams and workouts and “mommy tucks” to desperate mothers who just want to feel normal and be accepted by their spouse.
Companies sell ‘Man’ themed things because they think it will sell, and double their profits for the same item using different branding . Companies do the same thing to women to maximize their bottom line. Your issue is capitalism; not men.
Will you blame the men for being the target audience; or the idiotic company that thought putting blue on something means men will buy it? Because these same companies don’t care about people. You should know this.
Men constantly have 'fit bodies’ pushed at them as well; clothing to make their natural gut shrink so they can look 'more attractive to women’, food products that will starve them of nutrition to get them the perfect body that women will love, unrealistic body standards (On shows women mainly watch) that tell men they aren’t attractive. The fact that you are ignorant of this means you’re willingly ignoring what happens to men just to be right.
Breastfeeding in public is not tolerated, because exposing breasts in public for any reason that isn’t sexual is unacceptable to men.
“Tolerated”? Who the fuck cares what’s tolerated.
At one time a black man holding hands with a white woman wasn’t tolerated. At one time in America gay and lesbian people weren’t tolerated. Who cares what’s tolerated. You know what’s actually important?
All fifty states have laws to protect and allow women to breastfeed in public.
And past that, if someone gives a breastfeeding mother shit, its likely to cause a rally behind her to shut the offender up.
You’re aware its 2021, right? You’re past the murder clown arc of America?
Anyways I just hate how it’s socially acceptable for men to police postpartum bodies just so that they can continue living their fantasy; they want a perfect mother with a perfect body caring for a perfect child.
It isn’t socially acceptable, however.
I’m not sure you could find an example of anyone policing a mother’s body in this day and age that wouldn’t be shit talked by every single person aware of the situation.
And we all know that this is impossible. We need to stand up for our mothers, love our mothers, instead of shaming our mothers for things they can’t control.
Are there terrible people that impregnate women? Definitely. Are there terrible women that get impregnated? Definitely.
People are individuals before their gender, I’m not sure if you are aware of that. However I don’t disagree with you that we as a society need to take better care of the parents that we have that are decent, because they’re just humans trying their best.
Lol so do you have a counterargument or?
I’ll admit, it was hard to make a counterargument, due to this barely counting as an argument in the first place;
this is just you pointlessly ranting on about how much you think men hate women.
And the truth is, you’re demonizing men and trying to make women into victims that can’t take care of themselves, or have no autonomy.
This mindset is just like the KKK that say black people are evil and dangerous and a threat to white people on the basis that they exist. Or Nazi’s that do the same with Jewish people.
Or Christianity that tells everyone they have sinned and need to repent simply for existing.
Cause every single thing I said in this post is true :)
You gave no sources for something you say happens all the time, and had nothing to back up your words—So claiming what you said is true is a baseless opinion at best.
But, maybe it isn’t.
All I know is every single thing I said in this post is true :)
