If you are here from A03, hi!!!! I am sorry to admit my activity goes from crickets to band practice in a garage on here too.

Online status is basically just how comfy I am with interacting with the internet at large. Sometimes my brain breaks and I need to go offline or semi-online to take care of myself. Other times I yeet myself into the forest for a bit.

My stance on AI is and always has been that it must be destroyed so we may salt and burn its bones. I will have an eternal grudge against it for stealing my artwork and writing as well as the harm to people I watched happen in real time while in art school. Storytelling and creating are what humans were made for, and we all deserve to tell our stories and make our art in our own voices and by our own hands.

I have been thinking about starting a literacy and writing youtube channel. Not a this is how to read (because I am not qualified for that yet, though it is something I would like to do) but just a "Hey lets get really excited about reading and writing because it's really quite fun!"

Like I can't teach anyone to read or write. But I can be a reading and writing hype man.

With semi-weekly work on stuff and hang out livestreams.

It would include fandom stuff too, because any reading and writing that a person does for themselves is a good thing (and totally not because I wanna show off my books from tv shows and movies and my copy of Superman: Dawnbreaker that was signed by Matt De La Pena (BECAUSE MATT DE LA PENA!!!))

Like I know the literacy crisis is rooted in a lack of hope for the future, but I think that maybe bringing joy into literacy and showing people the magic of it all might bring a little more hope to the table.

And spent most of the money i had set aside on Sting. But you know The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings were comfort reads (to the point that between rereads and moving 19 times in a decade I actually destroyed my original copies) So like.

Act 1 is edited! (but I need to type it. This is the transition illustration for switching between planets and times.) The forget-me-nots were in my backyard, and the Kryptonian flowers are based on night sky petunias (my second favorite flower actually) and the purple earth theory, which is that before chlorophyll-based plants happened we had retinal-based plants (I might just be a nerd but it's fascinating science). Which were pink and purple! And I have seen pink and purple plants in some of the comics.

Smaug! For the library! (WIP but I am proud of my 12 hour dragon face)

He's gonna be a 22x30 cut out poster climbing down a bookshelf, and i am hoping to make spines, wings and a tail to go over and wrap around the shelf. I might (probably) add teeth back in, but I will wait to see what it looks like with the rest of the body first.

(also running out of time. the summer reading program is fast approaching)

My room looks like a paper hurricane went through it. But!!!! The typed edits of The Soft Light of Home are done!

It is currently 110,432 words 31 chapters and an epilogue. It is 447 pages (That i have to print one last time.) The only edit left is the Rainbow Edit, which is essentially prettying things up and some illustrations. (There will be at least 2. I might go as hard as 15, but that depends on time and how angry my carpal tunnel gets)

So it will grow a little bit.

Once I get 2 acts ahead with the rainbow edit, I will start posting. I am aiming for early June. (which is funny, because I think the first time I tried to post it was also in June, back in 2024. I took it down because it needed more editing.)
