'theres no sign of lois' so he turns into a loner emo til the second he sees her. Then he has this sudden urge to return and to embrace his human side. (Hes so in love he cant help it)

BUT CAN WE PAUSE FOR A SEC AND ADMIRE THE FACT THAT FIRST THING HE DOES AFTER NOT SEEING LOIS FOR 3 WEEKS ITS CARESSING HER?!!!! Omg hes the sweetest i love him :')

And I guess I’m so used to seeing Zutara hate, I was genuinely surprised to hear Jet’s name. And then I was immediately disgusted because what did she ever do? A young girl with her own first crush?? Is summed up as a whore?? And I tried to wrap my mind up around how one even comes to that sort of thinking but I still can’t fathom ?? That Aang’s crush meant to this guy that Aang was somehow entitled to her. Despite Katara choosing her morals over those feelings for Jet in the end. Despite anything that she had done and accomplished in the entire series, that was his first train of thought.

And I always read thesis and see posts calling out misogyny against Katara in the ATLA community. I see it, I recognize it. But running into it in real life is so eerie, because I just know if you feel that way about a character you must carry that out onto real women.

But you know I told him I ride or die for her and fuck it, it should’ve been Zutara. Little did he know he was talking to someone who just spent two years writing a 350k Zutara fic 😂

Anyways. This makes me appreciate this community even more. It makes me want to work harder to create beautiful stories that gives her even more agency. Gives her a stronger voice. Aang is such a beautiful character, I think he would bend that guy off a cliff until he apologized.

A power that creates fear and pain and only seems to be used for destruction? I can’t think of anyone who would know what that feels like.

I’ve been talking about this a lot recently so now I can say something directly and hope it clears some stuff up because I think some stuff is getting lost in translation. And considering I live in one of the host cities, I’m offering to bridge the gap.

Most of the Americans (obligatory that I’ve seen disclaimer) that are talking about European football fans/live in the places that are hosting games aren’t being smug…or at least not trying to. They’re just tired of people talking bad about where they’re from even when they’re right.

It’s not “you stupid Europeans can’t handle our great land of the free” . It’s “Oh you think you can fix this shit, huh. be my guest! It’s not gonna work tho”

Because most of the Americans living in these places (New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey) aren’t exactly happy about anything in this situation either. I hate I-95 and it’s never-ending construction with my whole heart. I wish American cities were more walkable. And yes, we have protested about it over the years but car lobbyists have a lot of money, more than the bike lobbyists do. So when outsider football fans say “well, why haven’t you protested and gotten them to change it?” it comes off patronising. And there is nothing that will piss off an East Coast person more than that.

And then take into account for YEARS, we’ve heard smug/elitist Europeans say shit about American tourists not knowing how things work “over here” vs in America and overall being a nuisance and had to quietly agree that yeah we Americans suck because we KNOW that’s true. We saw the 2024 poll numbers. Just like we know our healthcare is bad and that our schools are unsafe. WE KNOW!

It’s annoying when an outsider insults the group you belong, even tho you know they have a point. It’s the entire reason Gritty is as popular as he is. Philly fans saw him and went “WTF is this”, everyone outside of Philly said “WTF is this!” and Philly fans IMMEDIATELY got defensive and started loving Gritty out of spite. And now he’s a beloved patron saint of the city.

So now we (the East Coast Americans) have a bunch of European tourists about to come over at once and here they are talking about how they’re going to just act like they do back in their home country and just force the people around them to accommodate them and well… yeah there is going to be some “ha ha, shoe’s on the other foot now, motherfucker” feelings in there.

Because honestly: HA HA, shoe’s on the other foot now, motherfucker! Deal with it!

We’ve been catching strays for so long, we can be a little petty, as a treat.

But we do also know that it sucks and that in the grand scheme of things, y’all aren’t wrong to expect better so we (average East Coast Americans who are aware of international relations) still try to warn y’all that “hey uh walking to MetLife stadium you can’t do that” and yes sometimes some the spiteful cockiness leaks into our warning but we ARE warning you nonetheless.

If we didn’t care, we would’ve just said nothing and let you get run over when you tried to cross a highway, putting your life in the hands of an American and their empathy for their fellow man when you know that when empathy was on the ballot in 2024, empathy LOST! You really think one of those voters wouldn’t just run you over?

My point is people get defensive about the place they call home. We both want people to appreciate what a cool place it is while gatekeeping it because those people didn’t experience all the bad stuff to get the good stuff. We both want people to acknowledge our struggles that come from our home but we also don’t want anyone from outside to disrespect it.

TL;DR : They aren’t proud of the bullshit they go through but it’s THEIR bullshit, and you gotta respect that. They can call it out. You can’t

Nah because it’s literally already the best just because of Clark’s “A monkey” point, a gag so good they redid in the Smallville comic, but the Oliver fights in a showgirl outfit also exists so.

Oliver and Lois’ “exes but still good friends” dynamic was on point as well!

There’s just so much good stuff in that episode. Freaking EMIL!!!

AND THEN you get the joy from the idea of “Tom didn’t want to be shirtless, the writers 100% wanted Clark in that outfit and Tom said ‘Absolutely Not’. Tom said “I’ll leave right now, what are you gonna do, recast me *in Season 10*” and they had to make Justin do it.” which totally happened and you cannot convince me otherwise.

You know what, I’m gonna rewatch that episode now.
