one day i woke up and realized that my inner voice had been right the whole time. the trans acceptance movement is, was, and has always been about males: their comfort, their happiness, their egos; what they want, what they demand, what they label as offensive—all their rhetoric has upended society in less than ten fucking years because they're male. the courts know it, politicians know it, academics know it, the medical community knows it. males have been at the forefront of the trans conversation for a fucking reason. they're the only ones winning historic "womens" awards, being celebrated and championed for their bravery, being recognized in activism circles and lawmaking and politics.

here's the most fucked up part: in countries where women have less rights than cattle—their husbands are legally allowed to beat them, males rape them in broad daylight, police won't even investigate their murders—trans women are a protected class. trans men aren't.

nobody wants to say the quiet part out loud, but i will! trans women are still male. trans men are still female. sex-based oppression and the power of male privilege is playing out before our very eyes.

women, lesbians, females have always been a means to an end. disposable. objects for male pleasure. things they can humiliate and scare and abuse without consequence. just fucking look around you.

women, listen to your gut. don't let your body be used and abused for the sake of feelings, or your kindness be weaponized to accept your own victimization. these men are rapists who hide behind faux bigotry and lipstick-wearing male privilege.

the church harbors sexual abusers. they don't do background checks on new members and if they do, they "forgive" them and let them in anyway. they ask bishops to not inform police of sex crimes committed by members or on church property. i have personal experience with this - 3 different times. i was present for one of the phone calls. the church is notorious for being a pedophile haven and still abuse is under reported. in utah and idaho were there is a large mormon demographic, judges and juries have been found to be more lenient on members charged with sex crimes, some not even being required to register let alone serve jail time. they do not get excommunicated.

to make matters worse, men are practically required to serve missions, usually international. we will never know the full scope of the issue because the legal red tape is worldwide. modern mormon colonization of polynesia is no different than "passport bro" shit and i am horrified thinking about the crimes being currently committed there by american mormon men that will go unpunished because the countries do not have the resources to investigate or punish them, especially when a multi-billion dollar company (because that's what the church is) is involved.

I always thought that only soap and moisturizer are really necessary. Soap to keep you clean and stink free, and moisturizer to keep you from itching / cracking / peeling / generally feeling unpleasant from dry skin.

However, I recently saw someone say a "hot take" that most lotions and moisturizers are just scams, all they do is evaporate and leave a residue on your skin to trick you into believing it moisturized you and did something.

I'm feeling skeptical of this. I live in a very cold and dry climate, so my skin cracks and bleeds from dryness if I don't moisturize. But I'm wondering if maybe there might be some weight to this, with some moisturizers it really does feel like they don't do anything, so this might be true at least for cheaper moisturizers maybe.

if you have dry skin sure but no need to spend $40 on it. its like buying tums in my opinion you use it when you need it to solve a problem

I've never used makeup so I wouldn't know, but I have a strong suspicion that makeup and the cleansers used to remove it cause skin dryness and that's why moisturizer is so emphasized as an every day requirement. I truly do not believe almost every woman has a dry face naturally. The face is one of the oiliest parts of the body.
