Miss Piggy's response to misogyny and fatphobia is physical violence and I think we should all take something from that
This is the best one
(in case anyone needs context, since i know there's a bunch of younguns who didn't even know the "It's gonna be May" meme... The song playing is NSync's song "It's Gonna Be Me", the guy in the mint green t-shirt is NSync member Lance Bass, and the guy in the pink hoodie is his husband Michael.)
Resisting tyranny takes a lot of forms.
Hell yeah.

hey rather than donating to the roman catholic church, an organization with literally more money than god, how about you donate to the three black churches in louisiana that were set on fire by probably white supremacists
So I live with my family currently, which is my grandma,my mom,my 2 brothers, and me(all of us are basically adults), we get around 2000$ at the beginning of the month and around 400-500 go to food and house products(like cleaners, body wash, etc) we only can go out 1 time a month and buy food and etc, but we always run out of food after like the 2nd week. Do you know a better way to shop because what we do is clearly not working for us. Thank you so much
This is really hard to answer, because let me be clear: $400-$500 is not enough money to feed 5 adults for a whole month.
To put things in perspective, my husband and I spend $400-$500 a month on food and there are only two of us. I also have the capacity to go grocery shopping on a weekly basis, to buy in bulk, and to take advantage of coupons and sales, all of which I explain how to do here:
How to Shop for Groceries like a Boss
From the way you phrase your question, Iām guessing your family is on some kind of public assistance. I therefore suspect this is less of a frugal/budgeting issue for your family, and more of an income issue. So here are my recommendations:
See if you can apply for more financial assistance to help pad your food budget. Hereās how to do that: How to Start at Rock Bottom
If you and your family members can get jobs, second jobs, or raises at the jobs you already have, go for it.
Reach out to non-governmental charities in your area to see about getting more food. Religious centers and food banks will often be able to help you with free or steeply discounted food to get you through the month once your budget runs out.
If anyone has any suggestions for other ways to stretch a limited food budget besides what Iāve mentioned in the above article and bullet points, please reblog and Iāll share your answers. Thanks Bitchlings!
Off the top of my head:
Some farmersā markets double public assistance (if thatās what youāre on).
Some grocery stores will put food thatās about to expire on deep discounts - if you can find out who does that and when, you can get a lot of food for cheap. Ideally stuff that can be frozen to preserve its shelf life.
Community events sometimes have free food - church potlucks, industry talks, etc. If you can pass as a student, see if a local college has events with food.
Community gardens, or if you have land, your own garden, can help - everybody has excess zucchini at some point. You can plant from food scraps such as potato eyes so you donāt incur further costs. You can also trade skills for food e.g. helping with harvesting in exchange for taking home some produce.
Not all of these may apply, but Iāve personally done most of them to make ends meet and stretch a skinny budget.
$400 a month for 5 adults is doable, but itās not enjoyable unless youāre a big fan of cooking, and itās much harder if you dont have great access to stores or a car.
A few years ago I shared a house with four other people, and each week weād put $50 each into the kitty, which would pay for shared groceries but also all the bills, so it was important to have groceries come in as cheap as possible.
Most weeks I could get it around $80, but it was always under $100. It takes work to keep things that low, however.
Find your cheapest local store, or find out if itās worth travelling a bit further to buy at a bigger discount. Think your local aldi vs Costco. For us, we went to Costco at the start of the year to stock up on cleaning supplies and canned goods (that we KNEW we would use), and then did a weekly shop at aldi.
Find out the cost per weight (or volume) of products to get the most value for money. The calculation is a bit of a pain to learn but you can just plug in the numbers once you know it. Look up āunit price calculatorā if youāre struggling.
Learn to love cheap food. Cheap cuts of meat, bulking out dishes with lentils or rice, and learning how to save borderline produce will make a huge difference. There are many food bloggers out there who teach you how to stretch a dollar, but I recommend Jack Monroeās website for the best tips on improving clearance rack items. Things like casseroles and pasta bakes are also great for stretching food by adding filler.
For produce, I wont buy anything more than $4 per kilo (mushrooms are the exception). When carrots are on sale for $1 or less a kilo, Iāll buy multiple bags, because they make great filler when grated and cooked into dishes.
Learn how to store things. For instance, you can freeze grated carrot, and make those cheap bags last months. Google ācan I freeze ____ā, and if something can be stored, buy in bulk when itās cheap.
Oats and cheap bread are perfectly acceptable for breakfast/lunch. So are leftovers. Theres no need to get fancy, and cheap grains are pretty solid meals.
Try to avoid snacks. They easily destroy a good budget, because theyāre priced for convenience. If you can bake, making simple cookies is way more cost effective. Often even marked down baking mixes are better value.
HAVE A MENU PLANNED. This is the number one thing. I planned each week around two proteins, with the idea being that I could buy those in large packs for cheap, and then we could alternate them to keep it interesting. Anything leftover from the last weekās shop would be used first, or frozen to be used later. The idea is to buy things in bulk and then spread their use out over the week. Eg ground beef could be used on Monday for tacos, Thursday for bolognese, and Saturday for a meat pie (and the meat in these meals would be padded out with grated veg and lentils, to go even further). Same idea applies to fruit and vegetables - as many meals as possible from each type. Carbs, spices and sauces keep for ages, so you use those to switch it up and keep things interesting.
I use the grocery spreadsheet found here
How to use a free grocery price list spreadsheet (by volume & store) to dramatically cut your grocery bill & food costs in an easy & efficie
to track and compare prices at my local grocery stores to see who has the cheapest food items and compare those prices to sales when I get circulars in the mail.
(Also the Smith's I shop at in the Salt Lake Valley has discount shelves for produce, meat, the deli, and the bakery so maybe that'll help someone)
this is what the rise of pedophile culture looks likeālittle girls are being indoctrinated into beauty rituals at earlier and earlier ages to feed the misogynistic pedophilic male gaze.
this is what the intersection of capitalism and misogyny looks likeāfashion and beauty products are being marketed to females no matter their age as long as is generates profit and feeds the male gaze.
this is what porn culture looks likeādue in part to the widespread availability of porn, females are considered sexual objects before they are considered human beings and so no matter what, a female must always be sexually available and presentable to men.
^Exactly. Please, when you see young girls who look like this, remember not to blame the literal children for their own oppression. Theyāre just trying toĀ āfit inā and be accepted by their peers. Blame the fucking adults who sell them this image and profit from it.
Thank you for explaining what bothered me about children looking like that. I could never quite put my finger on it.

I loathe how badly I want this.
Thereās a lil food delivery robot at uc Berkeley campus that does this and one spontaneously combusted last week and the students had a candlelight vigil on the middle of finals week
Weāre all so dead inside that the kiwibot vigil gave us a reason to live
Weirdly anti-millennial articles have scraped the bottom of the barrel so hard that they are now two feet down into the topsoil
its so wild like āthis generation with no fucking money is learning to prioritize essentialsā and all these chucklefucks can write is advertisements for these companies
at least our jeans wonāt tear at the seams after two washes
FUCK FABRIC SOFTENER ITāS UTTERLY POINTLESS
AND FUCK DRYER SHEETS LITERALLY NOBODY EVER HAS ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM WITH STATIC TO WARRANT PAYING OUT THE ASS FOR THAT SHIT
DO YOU WANT CLEAN CLOTHES? YOU DONāT EVEN NEED TO BUY FUCKING DETERGENT JUST MAKE YOUR OWN* ITāS SO GODDAMN EASY AND 80X CHEAPER
FUCK THE ENTIRE LAUNDRY INDUSTRY *Fuck The Entire Laundry Industry Recipe
1 cup Washing Soda (not Baking Soda. Different things.)
1 cup Borax (not Boric Acid. Also a different thing.)
½ cup - 1 cup grated bar soap (you can use literally anything. I often use Ivory because itās easy to get and I find it works well, a lot of people like Fels-Naptha, which is an actual laundry bar. Some people use Dr. Bronnerās. Really does not fucking matter.) After grating your soap, combine all ingredients. Thatās it. Thatās the whole thing. Use maybe a ¼ cup per load.
^^^ Iāve done this for years now and it works as well as any store bought detergent
WHAT Thank you, tumblr user awfullydull! Your URL does no justice to the good advice you give!
Also you can MAKE your own washing soda very VERY cheaply.
Step one: acquire $5 bag of baking soda from Costco.
Step two: lay that motherfucking baking soda out on a baking tray.
Step three: bake the baking soda on a tray in an oven at 400° for 1 hour (to make the moisture evaporate, leaving washing soda)
Step four: revel in how easy and cheap it is to make your own washing soda, and maybe take a moment to be angry that the industry upcharges the fuck out of something that is so easy to make.
I see some of y'all complaining about static and/or wanting nice smelling laundry. Go to a craft store, find 100% wool yarn balls. If it doesnāt come in a ball, ask an employee to make it into a tight ball for you. Wash in the washing machine to make it felted. Remove from washer, add a few drops of essential oil to the ball, allow to seep in. Dry with clothing. Doesnāt need to be rewashed ever, and if it stops smelling, add few more drops of essential oil. Bam, reusable dryer sheets.
I love this post so much itās filled with helpful advice, hatred, saving money, and fucking the system all in one
That detergent can also be made into a liquid of you've got a washer like mine that clogs from the powdered stuff
