the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be a part of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
Ppl who say that trans identity is pointless bc you will supposedly never get validation offline are always showing how intensely online they themselves are bc there are a lot of adult trans ppl out here just having normal tedious adult lives
Like yeah im weird and gay and yeah i live in constant fear of the government, but im also just like, an entry-level professional in my field with corny cishet work friends and arbitrary deadlines to meet for my department. Trans people aren't permanent children, we are teachers and managers and pencil pushers and nurses and truck drivers. Yeah idk ill "never be a cis woman" but i will be somebodies freshman history prof who was always late grading papers

Description: [A video of a woman riding a galloping horse bareback while holding a large rainbow flag.]
i felt like these tags really added to the experience, thanks @cynderxdustypaws for your knowledge
This is one of the most powerful images I have ever seen, and I will reblog it every single time because every single time it brings tears to my eyes.
I know I am attempting nuance on a site that does not do well with nuance, but stick with me a minute.
It's noticeable when people use a genuine complicating factor (social anxiety) to justify bad behavior especially when their behavior does not align with that confounding factor.
Common scenario (and one that I just experienced, oh, about two hours ago):
Person A: is a dick
Person B: hey, that was a dick move; maybe you didn't mean it that way, but it was, so please stop.
Person A: I was not a dick!!!!
Person B: You were. If you don't want to be a dick, try this instead.
Person A: I have social anxiety!!!!!!!!! I will flagrantly ignore your advice and do EXACTLY what you said not to do!!!!!!!!
Hey man, first of all, lots of us have social anxiety. We're still not dicks. Having social anxiety (colloquially or clinically) does not excuse causing harm. Full stop. But what's worse is when you try to use "social anxiety" as an excuse for taking ownership and accountability for the harm caused. Own your nonsense, make your apologies, and plan to do better next time.
Anxiety of any kind can be really perceptually warping, I get that. It makes your fight-or-flight go wheeeeeeee when it doesn't need to. But part of being a human in the company of other humans is learning to curb instinctual responses (being told "hey, you hurt someone's feelings" is not being chased by a predator, and you do actually know the difference) and to adjust behaviors accordingly. Sometimes that means taking a break before responding, learning coping strategies, and does mean learning and growing when given feedback.
But also, when you wave the flag of "social anxiety!!!!" I do want to note that the rest of us are noticing what you seem to have anxiety over, and in scenarios like the above, it's clearly not about interacting well, finding community, or expressing yourself in a way that better communicates what you mean. A person anxious about social interactions and not being harmful will be clearly focused on navigating interactions appropriately and avoiding or repairing unintentional harm. A person anxious mostly about how they're perceived will be defensive, combative, and closed to recommendations for change, growth, and harm reduction.
So like, don't be a dick, and when you're a dick by accident, don't double down on the dickdom by claiming it's everyone else's fault because you're a wubbly li'l bean with social anxiety.
next year. next year i wanna go back to tfnation
discord letting you have custom emoji has really ruined my ability to communicate effectively on other apps. what do you mean i cant send jalute. what about givehand. cryingpat. torment. sittinghere. tvek. cant even send my wonderful beloved frogheart. whats the bloody point

im only attracted to worthy opponents
Don't get me wrong, I love Destiny 2 raids but sometimes it's like, Okay PEECHAN1000 we'll do the complex stuff, here's what we need you to do: first you have to kill the 17 elite wizards in this room without getting hit by the global shockwave that goes off every 5 seconds (it will instakill you and everyone will have to restart the entire encounter) then you'll get two buffs, one will last for 30 seconds, the other for 20 seconds. When the first buff runs out, but before the second buff runs out, you'll have a ten second window to pick up one of three glowing orbs hidden around the room (to find out which one you need, determine which day of the week and the exact minute on the hour it is and follow the flow chart we posted in discord) then run to a square that is not the boss's least favorite color and do three counter clockwise circles and shoot the smallest of 50 knights exactly ten times. If you did it correctly you will hear a tiger's growl, if you did it incorrectly you will hear a lion's growl. If you don't do this in time, we wipe. Do all of that three more times, this will open the passage to where we'll deal damage to the boss, but don't go though it yet! Next you'll have 30 seconds to run seven laps around this spire of floating platforms while jumping through rings, each lap you will pass a large projection of one of the presidents of the united states, decide which president this is and make a mental note of each president's full name and consecutive years in office and birthday. Then you'll have 20 seconds to call out to us the name of every president you did not see while running laps. It will be more helpful to the rest of us if you could list them in reverse alphabetical order. This will give you a buff which will last for 10 seconds and will allow you to deal damage to the boss. Now let's go over damage phase. Remember the years those seven president's were in office and their birthdays?
Help! My dog keeps hunting these little animals in my yard. I don't know if this is an endangered species. Anyone has tips on how to stop dogs from doing this?
WHY DO YOU PEOPLE KEEP POSTING GORE?!?!? I'M GOING TO BE SICK!!! THANK GOODNESS MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE WORKS FULL TIME KILLING THE FOUL HOUNDS OF HER KIND OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN TURNED TO POWDER BY NOW.
help i got stuck in gnome tumblr again
get the fuck out of our Tumblr???? that guy was my barber 😭
I'm scared guys someone get me out of the gnome internet
I've been seeing a lot of posts lately that tell dropouts "you can always go back!"
And that's not bad! It's true for a lot of people! You CAN go back later! You can apply to university, you can get your GED, you can pursue whatever level of education you want. It's not bad to share that message. If you dropped out and want to go back eventually, there is zero timeline. You can go back at any age, with any life experience. You do not have to graduate by a specific age.
But as someone who dropped out of college over a decade ago, sometimes "you can always go back!" starts to feel a little like an empty platitude. Sometimes it starts to feel grating instead of hopeful. Even when it might technically be true, sometimes it still feels like a hollow sentiment.
I just want to say, to anyone else out there who feels that way, who dropped out and CAN'T go back, potentially EVER, whether it's due to poverty or disability or any other reason:
It's okay to drop out and never go back. It might feel shitty, and you may even feel grief over it. That's real, and painful, and allowed. But you are not lesser. Even if you never go back, you are not a failure or a loser. Academics do not define your worth. You are not stupid. And it is almost certain that the system actually failed YOU.
With love,
A fellow burnout
A couple people have reblogged this with the comment that it's also okay to be totally confident in the decision to drop out, and to not grieve about it at all. And you know what? Yeah! They're right!
I personally still deal with a lot of grief about how my university career ended, but that's just one experience. I know other people with zero regrets, who talk openly about the ways that dropping out literally saved their lives. Life throws nasty curveballs sometimes.
So, to everyone who dropped out, for whatever reason, and however you feel about it: the educational system is a fucking minefield, but academics don't define your worth, and sometimes dropping out is the only option. Rock on.
the redraw of the thing

2026 - 2025 - 2024 - 2023
in spite of it all, happy 2026 pride.
you can download current and past hi-res versions of these over at my ko-fi (ok to print for personal use): https://ko-fi.com/mxmorgan/shop/freedownloads
you can also snag shirts here which go to various orgs: https://mxmorgan.threadless.com/collections/pride
these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.
final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍
