Well, it is #feministfriday ! Before today's book rec, I'd like to talk about Gandhi, a true enemy of women and equality. I'm fucking tired of white hipsters getting quotes of this man. His hypocritical, regulate "pacifism" was nothing more than a tool used by the British. Gandhi thought it was even more insulting to be seen as equal to blacks, than it was to be viewed as less than white. He HATED black Africans, considering them less than dogs, and supported the apartheid in South Africa. He instructed victims of rape and sexual assault to submit to their attackers in the name of pacifism. He also thought the Jews brought shame upon themselves by "submitting" to the Holocaust. Instead, he believed they should have commuted mass suicide. He frequently beat his wife and daughters, and would often lie naked in bed with young, lovely women since he told his wife she was too much of a "fat sow" to properly test his commitment to chastity.
