stupid and free

that type of eridian grace waking up in erid’s hodgepodge blip a (put together in a rush, since they’re the planet running out of time in this AU). finding a huge luxury cruiser version of the hail mary with a single 50-something year old mechanic inside. a lonely, desperate man who has been stranded for almost 20 years trying to save his planet.

the eridian grace that earns his name as rocky’s flashlight illuminates his beautiful iridescent earth-colored body, blues and greens and golds, rocky’s “saving grace”. he is the smartest being rocky’s ever met and soon the bravest, too.

would he end up with a discolored limb from where rocky’s skin burnt off around him, carrying him to safety?

would he remember that despite the emphasis on the collective, on relationships and love and belonging, he never met someone who he could let truly *know* him? not like this. not like rocky does.

would he ever learn that his new best friend, this tall leaky stubborn man, prayed everyday that his grace would come to save him?

i think that he would take very good care of that old engineer. he would want so badly to take him home and ask him to leave his family on earth behind. he would know he’s being selfish, though, and swallow his pride as they said their goodbyes.

there wouldn’t be a moment of hesitation when grace realizes he needs to turn back to save rocky’s life. he’s prepared to spend the remainder of his life dying in the handsome human’s big strong arms.

one day rocky wakes up while grace is using it and is like “whoa whoa what is this, question???” after the shock of being walked in on, grace explains it to rocky, and is kind of amused by his interest in it. he shows rocky how it works, “for science”, and, unable to answer all of rocky’s questions, eventually offers to let rocky use it too. (would a vibrator even survive rocky’s atmosphere..? for the sake of horny it would).

eridians don’t have anyyyything like a vibrator. they enjoy the feeling of a partner’s voice against them but have never created the technology to replicate it. so of course, rocky goes crazy using the vibe and comes harder than he has in his 300 year life.

grace holding it against the sides of his carapace and rocky immediately turning unintelligible as he squirms around and his legs give out from under him... grace has never been more turned on in his LIFE watching this happen.
