THE ACLU HAS BLOCKED TRUMP’S MUSLIM BAN.

The ACLU took Trump’s administration to court Saturday night and, after an hour of arguments, the judge granted a stay that IMMEDIATELY AND EFFECTIVELY BLOCKS TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDER AND PROHIBITS CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS FROM BARRING OR DETAINING IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES AT AMERICAN AIRPORTS.

THIS STAY IS TEMPORARY AND ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE CURRENTLY DETAINED OR ON THEIR WAY TO AMERICAN AIRPORTS. IT DOES NOT BLOCK THE EXECUTIVE ORDER IN FUTURE CASES. It will be further deliberated. 

Protect and defend yourselves. Be prepared.

IF YOU ARE A PERMANENT RESIDENT FROM IRAN, IRAQ, LIBYA, SOMALIA, SUDAN, SYRIA, OR YEMEN :

NEVER SURRENDER YOUR GREENCARD OR LEGAL RESIDENCY PAPERS.

NEVER SIGN FORM 1-407. It is literally a form used to abandon your permanent legal resident status in the United States.

DO NOT LEAVE THE UNITED STATES. As you saw, these executive orders, bars, and detentions can happen in second with a stroke of a pen.

GET AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

RENEW YOUR PASSPORT.

REPLACE YOUR CERTIFICATE OF NATURALIZATION IF YOU HAVE MISPLACED IT.

ORDER A COPY OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP IF YOU WERE NATURALIZED THROUGH YOUR PARENTS.

All these forms take time and money, so please do them ASAP. Certificates of naturalization and citizenship may take up to a year to be received SO RENEW YOUR PASSPORT AS IT’S THE FASTEST WAY TO PROVE CITIZENSHIP (about 3 week wait to be received).

So if you’re from the US, you should take it, and if I may–I suggest that (among many terrible options and ideas) you say that making childcare tax-deductible, lobbyist bans, and veterans’ healthcare are all very important, and that Keystone XL, offshore drilling, etc. are not important to you.
