If this episode has proven anything about the current status of the fandom, it’s that not nearly enough people have read the books. So let’s talk about it.

Yes, that whole rant Claudia said was in fact on brand for her and is very much who she truly is and is what she actually thinks. She doesn’t particularly like either of them but Louis was always her pawn because he’s easier to manipulate than Lestat. That has been established in the books for a good while.

Yes, The specific things Claudia said to/about Louis was to hurt him and to get a reaction. Claiming the writers ruined the scene with that and saying Claudia would never is in fact wrong. I’m sorry. Claudia is vicious and brutal when she lets the facade drop and as she is constant pain and filled with anger in death, there’s no reason for her to sugar coat her feelings.

Armand will always be the most vicious vampire when it comes to enforcing the rules. BUT he will turn a blind eye if it’s something he’s doing that’s against them. That’s just who he is.

With The Vampire Chronicle’s, it’s is a known fact if you’ve read the books and paid attention that Vampires can live for a little bit without their heads attached to their body. So as long as it gets put back they will get back up. So, Armand and Daniel doing that was purely to stop Lestat and Louis from doing the concert. Armand wouldn’t actually kill Louis or Lestat, there’s no benefit for him in that, but temporarily making them incapacitated is beneficial for now.

Every single character in The Vampire Chronicles is complicated, trauma driven, and multidimensional. Every. Single. One. Excusing one characters actions by saying “they’re traumatized, it’s not their fault” but then turning around and not allowing the same thing for other characters is wrong. Again, I’m sorry. You can have a favourite character ( I clearly do too) but you still should have a basic understanding of the rest of them and know that they’re all very similar in so many ways.

At the end of the day, the choices made by writers are always intentional and serve a purpose for later seasons with this show. That’s been proven multiple times now. And people need to remember that ALL of these characters are bad. They are vampires, they are monsters, not human. Their emotions and actions are not logical to humans.

By “Their emotions and actions are not logical to humans” I mean they feel more intensely and their actions represent that. So, what WE would deem unreasonable, unnecessary, or unforgivable, to them, it is something that could be logical in that moment or something that is more debatable morally.

Let’s all remember that the man , and others like him wake up every day and decide they’re going to harm your friends , your family , innocents who have no way to defend themselves against the power they all wield . And they gladly do so to get a little more powerful than the day before

Imagine if one day you were given a choice: Become immortal and indestructible for eternity, unable to be harmed by anything ever again, and get to live forever.

However, in order to achieve that you must give up whatever your purpose in life is. Whatever it is that you were always meant to do, what you were supposed to contribute to the overall scheme and future of the life of the universe, your purpose… the whole reason you were even created, even born in the first place. You must give that up. You don’t know what that is. You’ll never know; But, regardless, you say yes.

Perhaps you assume you wouldn’t have made any sort of significant difference anyway. That butterfly effect theory or whatever they call it? Nah, you call bullshit. It doesn’t matter - you don’t matter, at least not to anything outside of your immediate connections - and it’ll all be fine, and you’ll just live forever with minimal (or maybe even no) consequences.

So, yay! You’re now immortal. You’ll never die or get hurt ever again. Wee!

But then, centuries and centuries later (not to mention that by this point you’ve gone through horrible heartbreak and misery and despair because every loved one you ever had, every friend you ever made, ever person you barely got to know, has passed away, died as you lived on long without them, helpless to do anything for them as you watched them perish, unable to ever go with them or ever see them again. But I digress), now, you learn you actually were important in the grand scheme of things. You were supposed to be a key factor in the world’s survival, long ago; but, because of the choice you made (immortality over individual purpose), you were never given the knowledge or awareness or resources or ability to save the world that you were always supposed to obtain, before you unknowingly made the wrongest choice to ever wrong.

Needless to say, you’ve fucked up big time.

The entire universe as we know it is destroyed soon after this horrifying revelation. It implodes, collapses in on itself, essentially forming a massive black hole or something. Stars, nebulae, galaxies, solar systems and planets, worlds and worlds of living people and things, and light-years of time and space and life, all sucked up into absolute, indefinite nothingness.

But you remain.

Just you. Floating amongst, spiraling around, rocketing through, suspended in… nothing. With a feeling of such unbelievable loneliness that your feeble brain can hardly perceive, can’t possibly hope to comprehend. Not only are you the only living thing left, you don’t even have one inanimate object to keep you company. You have literally. Nothing. And you are literally nowhere. I mean, technically, you are now the universe - if it would bring you petty comfort to think about it that way. You. Only you. With nothing, no one, nowhere. Forever. And ever. And ever.

All because you thought you didn’t matter. That you had no real, meaningful purpose. That you could never possibly make a difference.

But you did. And now look what you’ve gotten yourself into, you silly nugget. You’re gonna be pretty bored and lonely for that eternity, huh?

Or maybe it was out of selfishness. Maybe this wasn’t because you felt useless, but because you simply only cared about prolonging your own life and nothing else. Hm.

The moral here? Be selfless, and always know and remember that you matter.

Or else, one day, you might destroy the universe. And be left to suffer, and be tortured horribly and endlessly by the void of nothingness that has consumed you. With no way to escape. Ever.

Other moral because I got sidetracked from my initial point - all things considered, would you choose longevity over purpose? Immortality over meaning?

1) 7 years ago, in 2019, Gooseworx used the common slang prefix for evil twins "nega," shortened from "negative" to refer to an evil version of a character, calling it a "nega-Angel."

2) People who actively hate this woman on levels even I struggle to comprehend concluded that this was her engaging in "antiblack racism" because the extremely common term which is used in children's cartoons to this day "nega-verse" sounds, if you aren't paying attention and you have some audio processing issues, a little like the anti-black slur "n*gger."

3) They proceeded to drum up a huge harassment campaign against her, using a handful of Black bloggers as meat-shields to feel righteous about their actions.

4) Her dipshit fuckhead fans then immediately began engaging in actual anti-Black racism against the above mentioned Black bloggers, and claiming they were doing so in defense of Gooseworx.

5) Gooseworx condemned the dipshit racist chucklefucks from point 4, pointing out that edgy humour used in private with trusted friends to make a mockery of racist shitheads is the exact opposite of engaging in hateful racist attacks on her behalf in fucking public. Though, frankly, calling "nega-verse" an 'edgy racist joke' is already an enourmous stretch, but good on her for cutting the dipshit fans off at the knees.

6) The harassment campaigners from point 3 had already managed to get enough eyes on her to get her spam-banned anyway, as evidenced by her account not having the "deactivated" suffix which appears in voluntary deletions.

So that's where we're at.

A bunch of white people using anti-Black racism as a cudgel to beat up a white trans woman at the cost of subjecting the people they are weaponizing to great fucking torment.

In conclusion:

Wish me luck blocking enough of them to keep the notes habitable.

Also, her weird swarm of transphobic haters may try to convince you that she said a bunch of "openly mysogynistic stuff about loving violence against women." They may even include screenshots and a link.

What you must remember is that twitter no longer lets you browse threads properly anymore. These were sarcastic tweets from a larger thread about how she is tired of being subjected to violence for being a woman.

The entire thing is a falsehood from top to bottom that was set up specifically to enrage dumb white fans into making racist attacks that Gooseworx would them be blamed for.

Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
